Today I get to share something super exciting with you guys. Something I can stand behind & be proud to yell from the roof tops. Let’s rewind to a few weeks ago Lance from Ladder 34 came to visit us on our farm & it was such a great experience. He had wanted to show us his rugs that are made from decommissioned fire hoses & I truly thought it was just going to be him showing us the rugs and leaving. Boy was I wrong. It ended up being a complete eye opening experience of us hearing so much passion and drive from Lance for his company, Ladder 34. It was so refreshing & motivational to hear someone talk about what they do with so much love & straight from the heart…
Ladder 34 is an amazing company that makes items with decommissioned fire hoses, but also so much more than that. Lance comes from a firefighter family & he is also a firefighter himself. He lives in his families farmhouse that he grew up in & is busy renovating it to make it his own for his fiancé & him. I mean, everything about him is so cool… I wanted to be his best friend. He explained to us the hard process of gathering all the fire hoses & the extensive work that goes into making these rugs out of the hoses… When I say my mind was blown I mean it. It made me fall in love with the rugs all over again.
One thing I had never considered about firehoses is that they all come in different colors depending on what area they come from.. some red, blue, black, & so on.Today I’m excited to say that we are launching the all white version of their rug that has never been done before influenced by our love for all things white decor. The rug is named the Pompeir E17, E18, & E19. The thing about these rugs is that they are super limited quantities because of the material being so hard to get. Once they are gone they are gone… which is good and bad. Good if you get the one you want & get to be super unique because not many people have a similar one.. and bad if you wait to long & don’t snag one in time. We feel truly honored to collaborate with this wonderful company on this & display these rugs that have a true rich history & story behind them. these rugs have become such a conversation piece in our home & I’m always super proud to tell them all about it.
This one that I’m sharing with you today is in our back guest bathroom now in our home. It fit in so perfectly with the vintage touches in this space & is the perfect rug in here because of how durable it is & let’s face it.. everyone wears there shoes in here since it’s right by the back door. The rugs are super easy to clean [spray off] & are virtually indestructible. The best part? They are so unique. I’ve never ever seen anything like this & that makes me love it even more. Head on over and show Ladder 34 some love on their website [HERE] & Instagram [HERE]… I would truly appreciate seeing these amazing people get all the love they deserve. Let me know what you think of the rug in the comments below, find me on Facebook, & chat with me on Instagram… Can’t wait to hear from you! xx
Just ordered one of these for my husband for Christmas..he was once a firefighter and is still an EMT. So cool these are being salvaged! First responders don’t get enough recognition. Thank you for sharing!!
Just ordered one, it will be a great addition to my decor. I love it! I love that they have found a way to recycle something that wouldn’t be usable otherwise.
