You know what I’m all about? Simple decorating ideas! Sometimes Jose and I will be talking about things to make and do around the house & we will always say.. “oh, that’s not worth sharing.” or “No one will care about that.” But lately we have been saying… “maybe someone needs to read that.” or “maybe someone will be inspired by that.” & that my friends is a great way to live. We should share more, say what’s on our mind more, & inspire more. I hope that when you come here to the blog daily and read about our fixer upper journey, fertility journey, DIY projects, decor projects, & more that you leave here feeling a little more inspire than when you first came. Here is a super simple decor project that I just did today as I started our Christmas decor in our front living room. It will take you from Christmas decor into winter decor & oh, it’s super simple…
I was inspired when I was shopping the Hearth & Hand items at Target last week. I spotted this lovely organic shaped pottery tray in cream, some lovely pillar candles [that smell heavenly by the way], and some wood bead garland & the idea came in to my head for the most perfect little simple centerpiece. The easiest part was that I was able to do the entire layout right in Target.. I felt like a weirdo putting a centerpiece together while everyone else is trying to shop around me, but I just had to know how many lovely candles could fit on my lovely little new platter. I figured it out: 9. 9 lovely pillar candles fit on the platter with plenty of room to wrap the beads around it. When I got the goods home I styled it on the coffee table in our front living room. I placed the platter in a circle tray that is also from Target [a long time ago] with two antique corbels and a cedar tree I picked up at a local boutique. Super simple & perfect for the season.

I wish I could capture the beauty of it on camera, but my iPhone can’t possibly do it… so go and make yourself a candle platter centerpiece & experience the magic that it is. This would be great on a dining room table, entryway table, coffee table, & it would be absolutely amazing anywhere in a kitchen. The best part you can really do this with any platter and candles you already have around the house. The best decor is the simple decor. I hope you guys enjoyed seeing this simple winter/Christmas decor & I want to say thank you SO MUCH for stopping by the blog today & everyday for a little inspiration. It means the world to me. Be sure to follow me for more inspiration over on my Instagram & my Facebook. xx
Some of my favorite centerpieces have been simple ones. This is really lovely lit up! Nothing like a grouping of candles at night to cozy up a room! The bead garland is perfect around it!
I saw a woven basket like this recently and now I’m kicking myself for not buying it!
Is that cedar tree a fresh tree? If not, where did you purchase it?
Gorgeous. I also wonder about that cedar tree…must be real, right?
Yes Liz! More of these simple diy décor posts, please! This is so beautiful!!! And I love that I can put it together without shopping…except for the wood bead garland-I have been meaning to make one of those!!! Love your blog!!!
I spy some cute stockings from Target. I wanted those but they were all sold out. I was able to snag the throw though. Your centerpiece is darling. I love your Christmas tree. Cozy room.
I ordered the candles, platter, and although the beads you used were no longer available, there were acceptable replacements in white and neutral. I’ll make them work! Thank you so much for the inspiration!
This looks amazing Liz! I can feel the coziness already!?
Beautiful picture will be making centerpiece lovely ideas.Keep up the good work.
