you guys know that I love my neutral home decor. My heart loves it & my soul is drawn to it. It’s me, Liz Marie. I love my neutrals with pops of color & tons of texture. BUT there is something about Christmas that makes me want to do at least one room in those cheerful reds & pops of Christmas colors. So this year I turned our back living room into the north pole basically & I wanted to share the whole space with you guys today in hopes that it inspires those who like to add some cheerful color to their Christmas decor…
I wasn’t lying. It’s so cheerful & cozy right? The fun part? I’ve had all these items for years & I’ve styled them in many different rooms before in this farmhouse of ours & our last home…
This was in the basement of our last house [See more HERE]
This was our master bedroom last year [HERE]
This was in our entryway in this farmhouse of ours [HERE]
Most of these pillows were bought a few years ago like the Aspen pillows from Home Goods, the red check pillows from Target, & the word pillows from Linen & Ivory. The Christmas trees are all from Target [sources at the bottom of the post]. The plaid pillows & that Christmas car pillow are my favorites from Pottery Barn. They still make the car pillow [link at the bottom of the post], but they don’t make these exact plaid pillows with these colors which I wish that they did! The stockings the coffee items, & the Merry Christmas banner are also all from Target. Those cozy wool blankets are from Modern Wool & some of my favorite blankets to snuggle with in the winter.
To get this look I focused on using the piano as our “mantel” by hanging the stockings [honestly I put push-pins into the top of the piano to hang them.. nothing fancy]. I spread some red & white ornaments at the top of the piano & hung a wreath from Target on the large architectural piece above the piano. Next to the piano I put our favorite Christmas tree on our little window bench we have there to add some height to the tree & make it more of a focal point. For the rest of the room I let the red pillows really speak for themselves & I put some Real Christmas greens around which I love for the look & that amazing pine smell!!
This living room is actually unfinished & we are hopefully going to gut it this winter, but it was so fun to decorate this little area of it. There is actually a lot more area in the back living room not shown here, but hopefully once we start working on it I will give you more of a full tour. Fun fact: This back living room used to be the old garage… crazy huh? This 1800’s farmhouse of ours holds some fun secrets. Anyways, what did you guys think of this cozy cheerful Christmas living room? I hope you loved seeing it & as always… THANK YOU so much for visiting the blog today. It means the world to me to be able to share bits & pieces of our life & home with you guys. xx

Hi Liz, would you please let me know where you get your living room area rug? I mean the room where the piano is ? and what is it called? Thank you for the help. ?
Awesome living room Liz! The tree to the left of the fireplace is it artificial? If so where did you find it?
Thank you for your time!
I’m sorry left of the piano.
So great that you’re sharing this post as I was searching frantically for a source on the red check pillows with help from another lovely reader !! I have been searching for this pattern for MONTHS for my living room ! And can not find even fabric ! Well they look beautiful in all your rooms Liz !
I love, love, love what you have done for Christmas decorating. I would love to do the whites with accent colors but in my real life I would not get anything done but clean it 24/7! LOL Beautiful job!
It is cozy and beautiful! I love the red (my fav) especially at Christmas time!
I follow on Instagram, and I want you to know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. God has a plan for you, and as you and Jose keep your eyes on Him, you will see Him faithful to you. He never fails.
Question: Is the coffee table at your old house, last year’s pic, a painted and distressed Ikea coffee table? I saw one on craigslist and had considered doing something similar.
Also, like the previous arrangement under your church pew.
You have a lot of accumulated accessories to choose from! Wherever do you store it all?
Festive decorations! First time here…. I’m wondering who is next on the blog hop?? I don’t see a link to the person following you. Could you please help
Debbie did you find the red windowpane pillows?? I would love to get some as well!
I am always so inspired by your blog! Thank you for sharing pieces of your life with us! 🙂
Could you please tell me where you got your sofa? I’ve been looking for one like this for so long! I saw one once and should have bought it on the spot. But I couldn’t justify it at the time since my furniture was still relatively new and well. Now here I am looking and can’t find.
I just love it! Thought I was on someone else’s blog for a second with all that color! Kidding.
Everything looks perfect, fun and festive!
