You guys… I messed up. I really did. I meant to show you so much before Christmas of our farm & farmhouse & with blogging almost everyday of the week I thought it was doable. Apparently not. I didn’t even show you any of our porch decorated for Christmas. I mean, I’ve shared it on Instagram, but not on the blog. I failed! I’m so sorry. & now there is so much snow outside that our porch is practically hidden. But I got to thinking today, & the decor I have up still out there with all the snow is really just “winter” decor anyways. It’s pine trees, birch, some lights, & a WHOLE LOT of snow. So In the -2 degree weather today in the middle of a snow storm I went out and took some photos of the porch. Honestly I should have done a photo shoot during the day before we got so much snow because you can’t even tell there is stairs, but it’s Michigan so here we go…
On the front steps I placed a few olive buckets with Christmas trees & some with birch logs. On the railings we used a natural pine garland & above the archway we used a fresh cedar garland. On the door I used an antique berry picking bucket with some fresh greens in it.
The side steps have my crocks with some pine trees in it. I get so many questions about these crocks & how I keep them from cracking… I don’t do anything, but send up a Christmas wish that they won’t crack & so far it has worked.
On the gazebo I have our big faux Christmas tree from Balsam Hill & that is it, but it is the focal point of the whole porch especially at night with all of the lights on…
Pure magic at night. I hope you guys loved seeing our winter porch all covered in snow! I can not believe that Christmas is over & now we are just in all our winter glory. Thank you for making my holiday season here on the blog so enjoyable. Seriously I can’t even tell you how fun you make it being able to share with you here daily. I hope you guys enjoyed seeing this little glimpse at our snow covered porch. Sorry again for not taking photos sooner when it was a little less snowy.. but I hope you guys got the idea. Thanks for stopping by the blog today and everyday.. it means the world to me! Be sure to find me on Instagram & Facebook for more behind the scenes. xx
It’s beautiful, Liz! The snow makes it even more perfect.
I love your blog and your style.
As for me, Christmas is 12 days long and I celebrate every single one.
For my family, we are still celebrating.
What a splendid mess up! Even though I have no desire to live in Michigan ever again, its nice to see your pictures of snow. It was meant to be, go with it.
It looks like a wintery wonderland! Happy New Year to you and Jose. May 2018 be everything you want it to be and more.
Hubby and I moved up to the fabulous mitten state 3 1/2 years ago. We live in the west too, Manistee and our bungalow is just 8 blocks from Lake MI. The previous three Christmas’, we have not had a white Christmas (it either arrived before and then melted or of course plenty arrived after) so I have yet to see one while living in Michigan. I missed this years because I’m in Virginia helping our adult daughter recover from surgery. I should be back in the mitten state around early March but once again, I’m so sad I missed a White Christmas in Michigan. I loved seeing your authentic Winter porch!! -Bev
This is gorgeous, Liz! I am going to ask a strange question, but how do you guys drive to town with all the snow? Lol I have always lived in Oklahoma until recently. There, we would usually only get one or two good snows during the winter. That meant it was time for me to hibernate for a few days or up to a week if that was what it took for the snow to melt off. You probably drive on the snow and don’t even think about it. Lol Just something I am curious about.
I think it looks amazing! The snow is so picture perfect!
I just love you and your home Liz 🙂
Wow! Gorgeous photos! The tree in the gazebo at night is just stunning.
Beautiful, absolutely magical, thanks for sharing and you and Jose have a Happy New Year.
Looks like a Christmas card/movie set! Just dreamy beautiful! Your gazebo porch
Is so pretty and that ceiling! Your home is the most lovely home in blog land!
Loving your vlogs, keep them coming! You two are cute together!
Blessings
Liz, your home just takes my breath away! Doesn’t matter the time of year, I always enjoy looking at everything you do and even though I don’t live on a farm you have given me so much inspiration on how to decorate my own little corner of the world. Your home is STUNNINGLY beautiful inside and out but especially at this Christmas season! God bless you and your hubby in the new year and my this year bring you unspeakable joy and miracles! Love from Ontario, Canada,…..Sandy.?
Love the tree. Which tree did you get from balsam hill and did you add any lights or did it come that way?
