I honestly can’t believe that I have never done a post on this yet… I mean, we’ve had a sink now for about a month.. & we actually have running water!! haha those that have been here on the blog for a while will understand why that’s funny. I mean, we went about 9 months without a working kitchen & without running water in our kitchen. It was rough, but we made it through. We ended up getting the exact same farmhouse sink that we put into our last house & to be honest it wasn’t our first choice, but hear me out why…. Last summer I had found an antique sideboard sink that was beautiful! It had a high back & was going to be the focal point of our kitchen. It was wonderful & it would truly fit the vintage vibe of our 1800’s farmhouse. Well, not all dreams come true. When it came time to install the sink we had to choose between putting our windows super high up & lose a lot of our windows or go with a different sink because the antique one was so tall in the back. Hard decision! But the window ultimately won. I mean… our window in the kitchen looks out onto our pasture and the backyard… you can’t beat the view…
We went with this sink [HERE] & we LOVED it in our last house & we love it in this house as well. The first time I got it I was worried about the single bowl feature, but it’s honestly the best thing ever & I don’t miss having a divided bowl at all. Also, can you picture us washing a baby in here someday… YES! For the sink cabinet we chose to have it not flush with the other cabinets so it was jutting out & we added the bun feet so that part of the cabinet looks more like a piece of furniture that is built into the house. The cabinets are from West Michigan Lumber [HERE] for all my local friends I highly recommend their design studio & they have products for every step of your fixer-upper, building, or remodel project. We don’t have all our hardware installed on all of the cabinets quite yet, but we are working on that & I think this sink cabinet is going to look even better when we get that installed. In fact: the floors are painted around it, we do not have the toe kicks installed yet, & there are a million other things we have to do yet to finish this kitchen, but we have a sink & running water… so who is counting? We also got a new faucet that I love which is this one [HERE] & I was actually worried about it because in the last house we had a faucet with the pull down hose & I thought I would miss it… nope. This faucet has the separate hose & I love it just as much. What I love more about it is the look of it. I love the dramatic high faucet & how it’s a little focal point in the kitchen.
Now on to the sink setup & how we have been keeping it organized… You guys know that I love Grove [HERE] & have been using them since last summer. Grove has many natural items which we have been really trying to switch over to in this house of ours. They deliver natural products monthly [or when needed] for free on orders that are $20 or more. It’s amazing because we have also been switching to all grocery & meal delivery services which has been amazing for our busy schedules. Grove has everything from vitamins to cleaners to household items. Quite amazing & we have loved our subscription. The best part? If you sign up now [for free] now & spend $20 on your first order you get a FREE Mrs. Meyer’s dish soap, hand soap, counter spray, a Grove walnut scrubber sponge, enamel caddy, free shipping, & free VIP trial. Quite the deal!! Totally worth it to try it out right now. You can go [HERE] to sign up now! Not only do you get three Mrs. Meyer’s full size products in the scent of your choice, two walnut scrubber sponges and free shipping, you’ll also get a trial of Grove’s VIP membership. That means for 60 days you’ll get free shipping on all your orders no matter how often you order, exclusive sales and personal service from a Grove member [Sign up HERE]. I love having that caddy next to our sink to put our dish soap, hand soap, & counter spray in for easy access. Who knew you could keep all the soap on the counter and it could look good?! It’s kind of a pain going under the sink each time you need one of these things so to have it right by the sink it makes a world of difference. I hope you all get your free caddy & soaps!!
My favorite scent right now of the Mrs. Meyer’s soaps is the basil scent… oh my goodness it’s so fresh & smells so natural. I’m not going to lie I love all of her scents, but radish and basil are my favorite. So, we have a long way to go in the kitchen, but the sink is in & we are finally able to use the kitchen which is amazing. I hope you guys liked this little kitchen update & that it inspires you in some small way in your own kitchens from the design to the setup. Thank you guys SO MUCH for stopping by the blog today & everyday to see what we are up to. Be sure to let me know if you end up getting this amazing Free Grove deal!! xx

Where are your plants from that are next to your sink? Looks amazing, as always!!
Sink looks beautiful. I love the faucet. It looks like a person standing with two legs and raised hands. 🙂
Can I ask where you got your drawer pulls from?…love them! Love everything lol!
Sink and faucet is gorgeous!! Would love to see the sink you were originally going to put in though 🙂
Looks wonderful I know it isn’t so hard to clean up a pretty area, and the view wow!
That sink is just gorgeous – I LOVE a good farmhouse sink! I also love the faucet – that black finish is beautiful!
Lovely.
I read that this type of farmhouse sink is actually the French “take” on farmhouse, meaning the other one you have and didn’t use is an old timey American farmhouse sink. The one you didn’t use might work sweetly in a bathroom …
What did you end up doing with the original cabinet you were going to use? I love the freshness of this view! So pretty!
Hi Liz!! So excited for you guys on how the house is coming along! The sink is lovely and I really like how it sticks out from the cabinets.? Floors… can’t wait to see?
Accountability is my word for this year? and one part means holding myself accountable for getting the toxins out of the house. Grove has been such a great find in helping with that goal! Who can say no to FREE products that are pretty much all natural and works great! Great to see it on the farm!
When I saw the grove caddie I knew I had to have it. So cute! Now I know what to do with it!❤️ Thanks As always for sharing your beautiful home.
Yes I have asked this question before and would love to know!
Really love the farmhouse sink. My concern is cleaning it. Do you have to use Ajax to get the scratches out? It’s the only thing stopping me from getting one.
I LOVE it! Everything is beautiful. I will be looking for a new kitchen window soon. I really like yours. Is it one large window or three separate windows? Thanks so much!
Everything is beautiful! Is that one large window or three separate windows? Thanks so much!
Where are the plants from?
The white on white in your kitchen is just stunning! And that stool. Love it!
