You guys!! WE PICKED A COLOR FOR OUR FLOORS!!! It feels really good to say that. After putting 25+ paint samples on the floor the past few weeks & debating daily on what color we should paint our floors. In case you missed it… WE ARE PAINTING OUR FLOORS!! Yah, I was nervous to tell you guys because it’s not like the “normal” thing to do… but I tend to forget that I’ve never been normal. & I’m cool with that. But since announcing that you guys have been so kind… thank you for that. Even those that weren’t excited about the choice we made to paint were super supportive with all of your “you do you!” posts haha.. which actually now thinking about it.. that could have been backhanded & mocking towards me, but who cares right? haha. Anyways… we finally picked the color & we finally put a layer down in the dining room this week & I couldn’t wait to show you. I debated waiting to show you until we made more progress because right now being empty you can’t see my full vision & the room is just an empty shell all while it’s all messy & not looking it’s best, but I have no self control & I wanted to share the in-between with you guys so you can follow the whole journey of it all…
*Angels singing* I’m in love. We found the perfect color. I mean, it’s only one layer, the room is complete mess, we need to seal it yet, & it’s so unfinished & I still love it. I really really love it. The color? It’s tapestry beige by Benjamin Moore & it’s a new favorite color of mine. Ok, so how did we get to this color? We basically started with 10 of my favorite whites, creams, beiges, & greens. From there we narrowed it down to what looked best in the light of our house. A lot of the colors looked purple, blue, too cold, too white, or pink, in our house lighting which is totally normal so here is Liz’s tip: Don’t pick a paint color because someone else loves it in there home. Always sample the paint colors in your home because different lighting & other factors can change the color dramatically. Ok.. off my soap box. After some more Home Depot trips to get some more colors we finally decided on one that looked them best in every room in every light, was warm, was inviting, & looked best with all our white decor. If you remember, last year we painted our floors white in the front living room before laying down the new pine boards & that’s when I realized I didn’t think white floors were right for our house. It was too white. Yes, I think there is a limit of “too white” in our house contrary to most peoples thinking. Tapestry beige is the perfect warm white, gray, green, tan, & so much more.. it’s kind of a chameleon color…
& SURPRISE!! Our weekly vlog went live today over on our YouTube channel [Subscribe HERE to be notified when we post], click [HERE] to watch this weeks vlog. We shared A LOT about the floors, a few more dining room secrets, some fun times at our shop, what I’m allergic to, & much more. I hope you enjoy watching & seeing more behind the scenes. We are having so much fun making these vlogs & enjoy sharing the imperfect behind the scenes with you guys…
So here it is. The first layer in the first room. The front living room, the dining room, the kitchen, & the sunroom floors will all be painted. We will be doing a few more layers of this Behr Porch & Floor paint in this space & then sealing it when we are done. I will be sharing the WHOLE process very soon, but today I truly just wanted to share the color choice with you guys & our new vlog this week. I hope you guys enjoyed seeing a sneak peek at our floor color choice, this weeks blog, & also our new lights that we blogged yesterday [HERE]. Our house is a complete disaster while painting these floors, but that’s the fixer upper life right? & we wouldn’t change it for the world! Thank you guys SO MUCH for stopping by the blog today & for watching our vlogs.. it honestly means the world to us! Thank you. xx

I love the new floor color!!!!!!
It looks great, I am also loving the new lighting!
Love your selection of paint for the floors. It’s all going to look amazing!!
Sorry you went thru the rash, I had the same thing happen when I was about your age. No more ‘Cillins’ after you become allergic.
I so enjoy your vlogs!! ❤ keep them coming!!
Wow! I loved the stain you used and I didn’t think I would like your choice of painted floors but wow! Just wow! They look perfect 🙂
Love your painted floors! Wish I could paint over my Brazilian Cherry hardwood floors!
The floors look great. The warm white is perfect.
Love it! Love a painted floor and that is a gorgeous color. Kinda wish I had another room I could paint the floor in.
It is so perfect!!
They look stunning!!!! Love it!
The room looks great! Warms everything up and pulls out the color from the big hutch. It’s going to really add another layer to your house’s decor.
Love your floors. Planning on doing the same in our master bedroom can’t wait for it to be done .
Beautiful!!!!!! The color is perfect!! We just recently built a farmhouse and I suffered so much anxiety from all the decision making and hearing everyone’s opinions and thoughts and thinking I was crazy for doing certain things. But I’ve learned to do what makes me happy because I am the one living with it!! So glad you got what you wanted in the end!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Would you know if porch paint could be used over laminate floors? My laminate floors are the older ones with no texture and they are getting some scratches. I would love to paint them but don’t know if the porch paint would adhere. Thanks for your time.
Love the color! It looks GORGEOUS! Great decision. ❤️
It’s absolutely stunning!!
All the heart eyes, i love it!!! Your home is beautiful!
It looks so good! I love the color you chose!
It’s perfect, because it screams YOU!! Love it.
So beautiful!! Can’t wait to do this in my home one day!
Love love love!! I definitely feel like the floors “flow” way more painted!! And btw, don’t feel bad…I’m 28 and need my wisdom teeth out & I’m also allergic to amoxicillin too & the “cillin” rule definitely applies. I just stay clear of them all! Lol
Absolutely dreamy!
Absolutely spectacular!! WOW!!!!
I love how they turned out! This makes me want to paint my bedroom floor?
Yes picked that one and love, love it. I thought too with all that natural light it would make everything look better..anf it will. I think you made the right choice. How exciting!
That color is perfect! They look amazing! I can’t wait to see the finished product!
Very pretty! Finishes the space nicely!
I’ll admit I was disappointed when you said you were going to paint your floors.. I loved your stain!! But seeing pictures, the paint looks beautiful as well! Love it as well!
IT look so incredible with your shiplap color. Do you mind me asking what color you painted the shiplap?
I absolutely love it!!! Paint wins over stain for me.
The floors look beautiful!! I can’t wait to see the rooms come together and change and change again! 🙂 I love following along on the journey!! And the vlogs are so fun! And… Not in a creeper/stalker way… but I want to move to Michigan and shop at your store and eat at that cute market and be friends with you and Abby. 🙂 ha! Thanks for sharing with us!
So beautiful!!!! Everything you do is always gorgeous ?
I LOVE this slightly warm white color—it’s perfection in your home! Great choice!!!
You nailed it, Liz. Great advice about picking paint colors. When picking a white wall color I always asked to see the paint color formula. I knew in our little cabin I had to stay away from yellow or pink hues. So, great tip. I was never a fan of the stained floors so I was rooting you on to go painted!
Oh my gosh I’m in love with this color! It’s perfection! I’m getting ready to paint our sunroom floors and I’m so inspired!
Liz, lovvvvvvvve the floors so far!!! Your dining room is about to be even MORE beautiful, how is that possible?! Way to go out with something new and different, sister! We’re hoping to paint our upstairs floors someday too, so thanks for giving me an extra push 🙂
Love them sooo much, now I want to do mine! Can’t wait to see the whole process and what your going to seal them with!
I was wondering where the hook plaque is from. Everything is so amazing. Picture perfect!!
They look amazing!!
I love the floor color you chose! and as I watched your Vlog I.LAUGHED.OUT.LOUD. so much/you guys are so entertaining and cute, especially at the part where you are in your pink sweatshirt/explaining to Jose/your decorating style…ok, next up ppl, hey/hasn’t anyone discovered you to make you into a TV SHOW yet….hey, you’re doing so well just like you are too…keep up such good work and thank you so much for the sharing…
Ok going to enjoy watching it again!…so funnyyy
It like watching Liz and Jose making a home show, maybe they should do a TV show highlighting your life. I’m a definitely up for the next chapter
Cherilyn, I did and they turned out great! Then we moved 🙁
Creamy!!! I love it!!!
Perfection
Yay! I was hoping (and expecting) paint to win. It’s gorgeous! Am going to sleep great tonight! 😉
Love it! And your right about not having “too white”. Can’t wait to see it completed!!
I love the colour, it’s warm and will go great with white furniture! Question: do you guys sand floors first? And if you do, do you also sand floors btwn coats? I know it’s a lot of questions! We recently pull our 1970’s carpet off and would love to paint the floors! Need some advice! Thanks heaps!
It looks absolutely stunning!!! I have to admit I was kind of bummed when y’all announced you were staining the floors. The stained floors looked so pretty…but this fits your home so much better!! Can’t wait to see the rest of the spaces!
♥️It..the perfect color!!
Woohoo!! I LOVE the colour you chose!! I can’t wait to see it all done! ????❤❤❤
Bellísimo !! The color choice look beautiful on your floors ❤
LOVE your painted floors so much!! You have such great taste & love that you followed what made your heart sing!
I. Love. It.
Beautiful! They look amazing!
Great color! We are on the hunt for the perfect neutral color to paint the powder room walls (no window) and our master bedroom (2 windows and facing the woods–so more dark than light.) We will definitely check out your Tapestry Beige–knowing full well our lighting may not show it in its best light. Like you, I know not to pick the color just because it is someone else’s favorite, but it certainly helps to have a starting place. Thanks for sharing.
I am new to fixer uppers and painting floors…yours look great by the way and the color is amazing. But I have a question. How do you use the Benjamin Moore color with the Behr Porch and Floor Paint? Is the porch and floor paint white? And if so, does that change in anyway the Benjamin Moore color you add to it? Sorry for all the questions; I just curious.
P.S. Love your Instagram, blog, and vlog! Keep them coming!
Loving your new painted floors. Did you apply a Varathane after the paint dried. Thank you for your help.
Wow they look beautiful….but your so right about the lighting changing the color of paint. When we were going to paint the inside of our house I wanted a light beige/taupe color. I went to Lowe’s picked out 4-5 paint chips & had them mix me up sample jars of those colors & it was so worth the money I spent on those samples. I took them home and between me, my husband and my daughter we all three picked a different color we liked. I started painting sample swatches on the walls, In all rooms under different lighting. I had paint swatches on just about every wall in our house. The color we chose wasn’t even the colors that the three of us had picked out in the beginning. We were shocked but so so pleased with the color we ended up using. Buying those sample paints saved $100’s of dollars on a possible wrong paint choice.
Oh my! I love your floors!!! I wish I could talk my husband into painting some of our floors. I have a shabby chic house, so this would be perfect! What good choices you make!! Can’t wait to see more.
Oh my gosh, Liz!!!! Gorgeous!!!! I LOVE the color you chose, too!
Love your floors! I have painted my floors with Behr porch & floor paint with three coats and no seal because I did use Varathaine once and my white floors turned yellow . I was told that you do not need to seal them since it is already in the paint. Check with Home Depot paint dept first
It is the perfect shade; it pulls out the warmer tones from the pieces you left in the room and the sheep painting. I was a fan of the natural unfinished wood, but love this color and can’t wait to see the room “dressed”. You have a great eye for color!
Looks awesome!! I am a new follower so I didn’t see the before but this is perfect for your decor! Can’t wait too see the finished room.
I LOVE love LOVE the floor color !!!!! Your decorating style makes me feel all warm and cozy, and I look so forward to your blogs and someone all the time! I am curious I’m sure you have told us before, but what is your wall color. I know whites are so hard! Too bright white two beige someone, yours looks great so I was just curious!
And I’m so happy that you are sharing along the way, I look forward every day to seeing all your stuff !
Lisa W.❤️
LOVE IT!!!!! And the “not normal” is what keeps me coming back! 🙂
As usual, you’re choice is perfect. Thanks for sharing. I enjoy learning with you about decorating which can be both frustrating and fun!!!
You always inspire me.
What will you seal it with and will that stand up to high traffic? Thanks
Just stunning, great pick somglad you painted them I was crossing my fingers you would!!
Absolutely GORGEOUS! Such an amazing home you’ve created. Love the picture of the sheep. Do you happen to know the name of the artist because I would love to get a print if it’s available. Keep on creating, you do it so well!?
I visited your blog segment, shop by instagram, but the large white-faced wall clock found in your living room does not have a source. I love it and would like to know where you purchased it. Am a new follower and love your style!!!!!
Stunning. Love watching your farmhouse renovation come together.
Love love love the color you picked.. just fits well with EVERYTHING!!! Great choice .. cant wait to see it with stuff in it.
Do it! It’s going to allow you much more freedom to decorate as the ‘red’ in your floors are restrictive. Paint em !!!
This looks amazing! I feel like it so much more “you!” and just feels so much more right!
I wasn’t going to say anything before but I wasn’t 100% feeling the stain and kind of wondered if you might be feeling the same, so I wasn’t surprised to see you changed your mind! (And not that it didn’t look great – it did!- but sometimes things can look great but still not feel right, you know?
Love it and can’t wait to see it continue to come together!
