Y’all I’m so excited! Why?! I mean, this project isn’t finished so why would I be excited? Because I finally took a few minutes to paint a piece of furniture this week & it felt so good. I feel like I haven’t had a good furniture makeover in a while so this was fun! I’m not quite done, so I will do a fill before and after next week when I finish painting, put new hardware on, and style it, BUT I wanted to stop in today to share the progress because it has something to do with something I blogged about earlier this week [HERE]… the new magnolia home paint that can now be found at Target!!
Yup, I painted the big beast in our dining room. I’ve been having the urge to paint it for a while now, and finally pulled th trigger when I found the PERFECT color this week while browsing the new Magnolia paint at Target. Gatherings.. I mean, even the name is perfect for a dining room piece! This piece is still one of my favorites, but it just wasn’t popping in the right way. There was something about it that was looking dingy to me. I can’t explain it, but I hope you get it. Many of you know that we have been a magnolia home paint fan and have used it all through our home on the walls and furniture. For this piece I didn’t use the chalk paint, but instead the regular paint in an eggshell finish, but I will still be waxing the piece with their furniture wax to seal it. It’s turning out great so far!!
So now all I have to do is touch up the paint, seal the piece, change the hardware [which will really make this piece pop!], and then style it. I’ll share the dramatic before and after ASAP! Sometimes even when you are super busy it’s fun to sit back and do something you love.. for me, painting furniture is therapeutic and a great way for me to slow down and shut out the world. I listen to a good audible book & paint the afternoon away… ahhhh bliss! Be back soon with the final piece! What do you guys think so far? Have you used this color? It’s a new favorite for sure! Thank you so much for stopping by the blog today and everyday to see what we are up to! xx
