Did you think I would go a fall season without talking about pears? Ha! So here we go! Last year I used freshly picked pears from our farm which are my favorite and always are so gorgeous. This year, I decided to go the faux route, but you can see how last years mantel with real fruit turned out [HERE]. This fall fruit always catches my eye in home decor. I love the warmth and coziness pears give. Collectively, these color combinations and warm tones is what autumn looks like to me. I wanted to try an eclectic antique fall mantel with these pears I picked up at Magnolia on our last visit & this is what I came up with….
For a while now, I have wanted to design a unique space filled with fun finds I have added to my various collections. I love the idea of taking on a space with a vision in mind, and then adding your own uniqueness to it, to make it even more yours. Layers of antiques not only add depth to any space but help show off who you are and things you like.
When doing a long shelf or in this case a mantel, your primary focus should always be balance. Balance in size, shape, and color. To compliment the splash of pear coloring, weight it down with rich gold vases and wood frames. Recently I started two newer collections. Interesting antique mirrors and sheep photos. My vision for this mantel was was layered warm golden antiques mixed with the look of farm fresh pears & I think it came out looking like the first days of fall or maybe even that Indian summer with the warm glow & seasonal fruit.
I hope you guys feel inspired by this eclectic antique fall mantel. If you really think about it you could youse this inspiration all year & just switch out the tones and seasonal greens for each transition. Super easy! Thank you all for stopping by the blog today & every day to see what we are up to.. it means the world to me! Be sure to follow me on Instagram for more behind the scenes of our fall decor & farm! xx
Where did you get those beautiful vases and mirror?
This is one of my favorite things you’ve done! Those pears, the frames, the vases. It is beautiful!
Love the soft, muted colours of the fruit against the white. Like an “old master” but brighter.
Beautiful!! I love it!

Love your mantel vignette! I love sheep and have a new collection of shepherds and sheep. I love the example in front in your display.. I am getting prints online from Encore Editions and I have the same print tagged for my next purchase! I love how you have a pet sheep and am totally envious. Again, I enjoy your blog routinely and you are among my prayers.
