What to say… First of all THANK YOU for everyone who supported this market of ours from near and far because it was AMAZING for our second year hosting The Found Cottage Mercantile Market & I felt all the good vibes and prayers you sent our way. Throwing a market is not for the faint of heart. It’s super time consuming, a lot of hard work, & it kind of rules your life for a while. But when the market comes all that hard work is totally worth it. The Found Cottage Mercantile Market is a market where 150 vendors all come together at the Holland, Michigan fairgrounds once a year. We had vendors from Nebraska, Pensylvania, Ohio, Indiana, & beyond… we were honored by all the amazing vendors who chose to join us. & the customers? Oh my… as always they were amazing! They came from Canada, Texas, Wisconsin, California… & so many more places. Can you even believe that? I will never ever ever ever take that all in… it blows my mind! Humbled, honored, grateful… doesn’t even begin to describe it.
I shared these words on Instagram the day after the market: Where to find the words for this weekend… after sleeping 14 hours & waking up with a huge market hangover [yes, it’s a real thing] I think I can finally share what’s on my heart about this past weekend. Grateful doesn’t even begin to describe it… I’m so honored by all the creative vendors that joined us for @thefoundcottagemercantile market this weekend, I’m so impressed by the vendors who stuck out the rainstorm we had Saturday afternoon in the middle of the market, I’m so THANKFUL for everyone who came to the market that came to support us and all the amazing vendors, & I’m grateful from the bottom of my heart for all the volunteers & people that made this market what it was. We don’t do this on our own.. there are many people behind the scenes who make it run smoothly. One of those people is my hardworking gem of a husband who gave blood, sweat, & tears to this market & we couldn’t have done it without him… he for sure picks up my slack and his strengths are my weaknesses so I’m thankful that we make such an amazing team together. I met SO MANY of you and today my heart is so full thinking about all the hugs, laughs, & chats that we were able to have. So many of you shared your stories of loss, hope, adoption, and fertility with me that I can’t tell you how happy my heart is today… I LOVE connecting with you guys on here, but to be able to hug you and talk with you in person is something that makes my cup overflow. This is seriously the happiest most laid back market I’ve ever been a part of or shopped… I hope you are all able to experience it with me someday. Excuse me while I go rest for the remaining part of this holiday weekend, but know that my heart is full & after a pretty dark time I just came through my soul is singing praises to the Big Guy who made this beautiful weekend happen! Thank you all for supporting me, @whitecottagefarm, @thefoundcottage, @thefoundcottagemercantile, @adventuresinabbyland, @my_sweet_dream_222, & the lovely @joyeartistry & everyone else who made this market possible! Until next year & our next market, hope to see you all there again!
I wish I could have captured all the beauty of the market, but it was impossible to do that… you had to be there. But I hope this at least gave you a little glimpse at how great the market really was. We had a lot of rain on day #2 & it was a little rough weather, but everyone was such a trooper and stuck it out… most vendors said they sold so much when it was flooding… us Michiganders are pretty hardy I would say! These photos are of different parts of the market from us running through the rain, to us sweating in the summer sun at the market all day… it was all perfect. Meeting you guys in real life was amazing & being surrounded by so many creatives was the best feeling. I can’t wait until next year & I hope to see even more of you there! Thank you again for all your support and love… it always means the world to me! & as always, thank you for stopping by the blog today & everyday to see what we are up to… So thankful for all of you! xx
My daughters and I are planning to be there next year!
@Liz Marie,
Thanks for sharing the Market with those of us unable to attend, what a wonderful variety of booths to part one of their money. ? Looks like a virtual paradise for someone like me that loves antiques and vintage. Even though unable to attend last weekend I will get to visit your store The Found Cottage this coming Saturday the 8th. My husband and I will be visiting Michigan for several days from the 7th til the 16th and are looking forward to it. (our first time to visit).
I want you to know that I pray for you often and keep praying for a term pregnancy and healthy baby for you and Jose. It’s time for a miracle Lord! Many, many Blessings to you both! Ramona
Your market looks amazing! Every single vendor is wonderful!
Great weekend! Thanks for letting me help.
Congratulations. You put your heart, soul and sweat equity in this market event. Its not possible to rain on your parade. I had a great time and enjoyed the unique and creative booths. You are an inspiration to all of the vendors and customers involved.
