Sometimes I’m left with a lot of guilt from the blog. My passion, job, & a lot of my life revolves around decor & design. I think about decor and design all day everyday because I love everything about it & I love sharing it even more. I’m passionate about what I do & sharing it brings a lot of light to my life. But sometimes, like today I set a simple white pumpkin on my table, I had a little pang of guilt in my heart thinking about the fact that I may give the impression that decor has to be complicated & that seasonal decor has to be abundant. It doesn’t. It doesn’t at all. I simply share decor ideas daily to hopefully inspire others from free decor to more expensive designs & I hope that with every post that I share you always remember that there is beauty in the simplicity. More can be beautiful, but simple can sometimes be better. Do what feels right for you & where you are at in this season of your life. Sometimes it’s putting a couple pumpkins from the local farm stand on your table & that can be a beautiful thing…
I haven’t shared this space yet! I will in more depth very soon, but this is our sunroom that is now our new dining room. After living in this house for a while we realized that we didn’t need our formal dining room & a breakfast nook because well, eating on sofas. So we downsized it to one dining space in our sunroom & I’m absolutely in love with how this space is progressing. The thing I love the most is that the dining room and kitchen are all in one area now. Today I felt like keeping it simple [for me] in here so I took some of my local farm stand pumpkins & placed them on the table… instant simple fall decor & it doesn’t need any more than that. With some cozy pillows in this room & the warm wood tones it’s instantly fall. As a bonus, with less clutter and less time put into fall decor, there is more time to do all the fun fall things like enjoying the perfect fall weather, apple picking, carving pumpkins, & of course sipping those hot fall drinks.
Fall is my favorite & I hop you are enjoying this season as well. I pray that you aren’t putting pressure on yourself to decorate in any certain way because of the inspiration that you see online. I think when we start comparing our holiday & seasonal decor to others, it takes away from the joy of that season. Let’s not do that… let’s decorate how we want & do what we love! Simple, intricate, or even no seasonal decor at all… it’s all beautiful & if it’s what we love that’s where the perfection of it all lies. Thank you guys SO MUCH for stopping by the blog today & every single day to see what we are up to! xx

BEAUTIFUL !!!! <3
Lovely table Liz! You are so right, decor doesn’t have to be complicated to be perfect. There is quite a metre of degrees of decorating and it’s all about finding where we fit on that metre as an individual. Let’s face it, our decorating reflects our hearts and souls and who we are and where we are in our lives so how we decorate is always right, …..for US! ?
Simple is my fave! Do you mind sharing where the pom pom pillows on the brown bench are from? LOVE them
Yes, I also wanted to ask about the pom pom pillows! LOVE THEM and love your blog!
love your home its always such an inspiration to see your changes. Simple is always so soothing. I love all those cozy pillows where did you find them?
This is my favorite area of your house, the kitchen and dining spot connected…hope you do more on these two spaces to share 🙂 or a video…the table with just the pumpkins and your collection of white chairs is stunning!! I agree with you on the decorating…I love everything you decorate, but at the same time you are right in the fact that as much as we all love your style and want to try to duplicate some of it here….a good share of us just can’t buy several clumps of magnolia pear stems at 28.00 each to get that look…so we will settle with drooling over yours 🙂 and since you have soooooo many of us that follow you this was a refreshing and beautiful touch of fall…Thank you for always sharing and please wave the “liz design wand” over my house…I would like to get the light and bright look a lot quicker than its going ha ha
As beautiful as always Liz! When I lived in San Francisco I rented a house that had a small kitchen which opened up into the living room but decided to set it up as the dining area. It was perfect for us because we often hosted people for meals and wanted the space to accommodate that. Great things happened around that table! We turned a small office into our family room, it made sense for us because we didn’t watch much TV so we didn’t need a lot of pace for that.
When you first moved onto the farm I immediately thought that your sun room would make a great dining space. Enjoy!
I was wondering could you share site you got those beautiful pillows on the white bench? Please!!!
Hi Liz Marie,
The crystal chandy… The long wooden table… The chippy white mismatched chairs… The cozy pom pom pillows… ALL THE HEART EYES! ?
Speaking of the cozy pom pom pillows… Where are they all from (the ones on the bench AND window seat)?
Thank you so much for sharing this and please share more of this space and your dreamy greenhouse soon!
I just love everything about you and your home, you are correct, I can’t and don’t decorate exactly like you but what I can do Is look at your way of decorating, your areas of interest and gain inspiration, I build upon your ideas into my space and make it mine. Thank you so much for all the time and energy you spend into making my world better. Even if you don’t realize it, you not only make our creative ways of decorating come to life but you also inspire us. I’m a caseworker for the Division of Child and Family Services, it’s a hard, heartbreaking job…I find solace in your blog and when I’m completely overwhelmed, I jump onto your site and just look at the beauty abound. I also just told your story and shared your blog with a foster parent I’m currently working with, you are an inspiration to complete strangers, I hope you realize how important you really are to many of us random people in “internet world.”
I so agree with you. Use the inspiration you see online to create the design that works for your lifestyle and your home.
What a great read! Thank you Liz for sharing! As a new Blogger, sharing my home decor and DIY projects, I’ve definitly told myself what I share isn’t good enough, or expensive enough, or fancy enough. It takes away from the joy I get from decorating and projects and sharing when I’m filled with doubt. I literally didn’t share a photo of some decor today because I didn’t think it was “good enough”, so this was exactly what I needed to hear! I really love following you and I am constantly inspired by you, so thank you for encouraging me in this way!
You are so right!!! I always crave simple before and after Christmas!!! Sometimes less is more, thanks for always sharing your heart with us!
love it!
Simple and gorgeous! The neutral pumpkin on the table are great!
