Hey friends! I think the number one question I get when it comes to our shop, The Found Cottage, is “Where do I stay when I come & what else is there to do?” That’s a great question & I decided to share a little more of what there is to do in the great area of West Michigan where we live. I will be dedicating a whole section on the blog to things to do in Michigan when you visit us asap. This past weekend I visited a shop that recently opened about 15 minutes from our shop downtown Grand Rapids. It’s called Stoffer Home & it’s owned by the amazing designer, Jean Stoffer. You’ve probably seen her work around the Internet…

I could go on, but you get it…. she is amazing. The funny thing is, I actually didn’t know she was local until a while after following her & then seeing her list Grand Rapids on a photo she posted one time. I was in shock & had to see her work in person. The next funny thing is, right after I found this out, she announced she was opening a shop… I’m one lucky girl. I finally made my way to Stoffer Home this past weekend & took a few quick shots for you guys while I was there to give you a good vibe of the place. Why do you have to visit? From books to kitchen ware to pillows to vintage rugs & great lighting for sale it’s all so inspiring the way she puts it all together. Her shop also acts as a design studio for her clients looking for her to design their homes & so you are able to see her work in action right in the shop. I was able to pick up a few things like a lovely lumbar pillow, some soap, & a pretty scrubby brush for our dishes. Visiting her shop was so inspiring and I could have sat there for hours with my coffee because of cozy her shop was. Bonus: The workers at her shop were super helpful & nice as well….

All in all I HIGHLY recommend stopping by Stoffer Home when you visit our shop in Grand Rapids & you will be able to find all of my recommendations when you visit Grand Rapids from antique shops to boutiques to food stops & coffee shops soon here all in one spot on the blog to reference when you visit. I got you my friends! You can find Jean Stoffer online [HERE] & be sure to show her some love on Instagram & let her know I sent you!! Thank you guys SO MUCH for stopping by the blog today & every day to see what we are up to. I hope today’s post left you with some inspiration & motivation. xx
I’ll be following along on this series, when we come, you don’t want us just hanging around your shop every day. Xoxo
So excited for this! We always go back home to GR in the summers and I will definitely stop by your shop (didn’t know it was in downtown GR!) and curious to see all your recommendations!
I look forward to seeing the local spots you recommend and checking out places I haven’t visited yet!
As a fellow GR dweller, it has been exciting to see Jean’s Instagram following grow over the past year, watch as the store came to be, visit the store on opening day, and even sneak glances at the homes she and her husband have worked on around town! She has been blessed with an amazing eye for design and it has been fun to watch her work from the sidelines!
Very wonderful idea to highlight your favorites in GR. We live in Muskegon and enjoy venturing over to GR. My girlfriend and I are always up for trying “ new to us” coffeeshops and lunch spots. Will definitely look forward to upcoming posts. Thank you….this home design store appears awesome…lit will be a good stop for us.
