Many blog posts of mine start out like this… I was at our shop this past week & I spotted something that I needed & now I’m sharing it with you on the blog. It happens all the time. I love our shop, but it’s so hard to be there among so many talented vendors who bring in the best of the best from an antique white hutch like this to handmade items. I found this white hutch top & I’m obsessed with how it looks in our front living room..

Isn’t she lovely? I just had to introduce you to her. My hold up on the hutch was that it didn’t have a bottom, it was a standalone top. I actually left it there at the shop for a few days because I didn’t know where I would put it in our house. Well, I came in again to look at it and just loved the detail on the hutch and with a little bit of peer pressure… I was sold. I’ve never come across a hutch top like this & I knew I would find a spot for it. As soon as I got it home I remembered I had this scallop bottom table lying around that is also from our shop from a while back. I decided to put the hutch on top of the scallop table & voila…

I have the hutch in the living room right now styled with some of my favorite pieces like the mercury glass from Anthropologie and the brass bowls from World Market. This piece is a great catch and adds a ton of character to our home & I’m really looking forward to styling it and playing around with it some more. What do you guys think of the hutch? Let me know in the comments below or find me on Instagram to chat! I would love to hear from you! Thank you so much for stopping by the blog today! xx
I really love the hutch on top of the table. I actually thought it was all one piece, it goes so well together. I love those mercury glass planters from Anthropologie and purchased several for mysef.
Love it! Knew right away that it was from Honeycomb! I saw it when the shop opened but thought it was connected to the piece it was sitting on. Do beautiful! Did you find a spot for the green coffee table you picked up from Passiflora awhile back?
That hutch is seriously so cool!! It’s the doors that make it so cute & the “chippiness”??!
It fits with the scalloped table perfectly!❤️
Beautiful! I’m loving it! It looks great with your little table! I would have never known the 2 pieces didn’t already come together. I normally not big on hutches since we have a smaller house but the way you made this one look so adorable makes me want to find something like this❤️ As always you make everything look so beautiful!
Love the hutch, where did you get your curtains??
??
Beautiful old piece and styled just right, i am in love, thanks Liz.
Liz,
I’m so~o`o glad you made the purchase and brought this lovely piece home!
Amazing how it “marries up” with your scalloped table!
I love it when a plan, such as this, comes together!
I am looking for a two door cabinet to place atop my vintage sewing machine table.
Perhaps, if I keep and open mind and use a keen eye, I’ll be as fortunate as you!
One can hope!
Gorgeous post!
Pat
The two pieces look fantastic together! I have to ask, what is the name of your shop? It’s in Grand Rapids? I’m originally from michigan and still have family there in Lansing. My sister and I like to go up to GR shopping when I’m back home visiting. One more question, how do you like your Hillcrest Tufted Sofa from Painted Fox? I’m thinking about ordering it but it makes me nervous to order without seeing it in person or at least reading reviews from other people that have it. Thank you! 🙂
Hi Angie,
Our shop is called The Found Cottage. It is located in Hudsonville Michigan. We also host a big market in to launch the fall season called The Found Cottage Mercantile Market, that is located on the Holland State Fairgrounds very weekend leading into Labor Day. We love our Hillcrest sofa. It is so very spacious it can fit our entire family, to include Winnie… haha! Thank you for your comment.
I know a match made in heaven, right?!? Thank you so much for the kind words, I am so happy we found a happy little home for that piece, and now it has a bottom that can move around with it. Thank you for the comment.
haha… Thank you!
I don’t know how you can sleep at night with SO much creativity rolling around in your head! This combination is genius…Love it! We have two similar pieces in storage that I can now see will look beautiful together. Thank you so much for sharing, Liz!
This piece is gorgeous. The legs and glass detailed doors are what make it!
