As our season of life changes we are trying to plan for the future. Our guest bedroom has one of the best views in the entire house. It looks out on the pasture, the barn, our greenhouse, & the backyard where the dogs playk… it faces east so you get a beautiful sunrise each morning, it is just perfect. We considered doing a little remodel to get a master bath attached to the room, but want to put our remodel budget elsewhere at the moment.

It is a guest bedroom, but like most spare rooms, the are always on standby and rarely get used… this room is just to pretty to sit around, so we naturally wanted to make it a future playroom. This big ol’ farmhouse was remodeled way before we moved in and they’re only two bedrooms upstairs, so we can’t afford to completely get rid of the extra sleeping space. We found the perfect solution… this beautiful sleeper sofa from Birch Lane.

The sofa is so very our style, slip covered, white, and cozy! With it tucked again the wall… it leaves plenty of room for playtime in the middle of the room, or at maybe a coloring table in the corner. For those who have limited space, and don’t want to give up a guest room, I hope this gives you an idea of how to make rooms multi-purposed with one piece of furniture.

This post is only a sneak peek of this bedroom makeover, but I will be back soon with the full reveal with the crazy before & after photos [this room had blue wallpaper and blue carpet before] I hope this post brings you some inspiration for your weekend & that you are excited to see the full makeover soon! Thank you for stopping by the blog today and every other day. Xx Liz Marie.

Are those reindeer bookends, tooo cute! A very pretty space that looks cozy and inviting.
Love this room. But totally in love with the wallpaper and the vintage barn on the table! Can’t wait to see the rest of the room.
Where are all the throw pillows from? I wish you would put links to where non antique items are purchased. It is helpful since I am usually on these websites looking for ideas to freshen up or re do rooms
Hi there…I see that Liz does give info on some of the non-antique items. She referenced the Essex Rabbit from Pottery Barn in one of her vignettes; I know because I ended up purchasing it. Some of the throw pillows are also from Pottery Barn-the Reilley Embroidered throw pillows. Hope this helps!
So beautiful guys! I love love the little fawn book ends?
Is there any way you can tell me about the wallpaper. I live in a log home and desperately looking for wallpaper for master bath that I am revamping now. This paper in the Guest bed/Playroom looks like a very good candidate. I have been searching forever with no luck. Love your decorating and your blog. Thank you so much.
I love the white coffee table? Can you please let me know where it can be purchased? Thanks.
Curious – how many bedrooms are in your gorgeous farmhouse?
So wise to have your guest room do double duty! It’s beautiful!
Oh my gosh!!! I’m literal obsessed with this playroom/guest bedroom!!! Seriously! The little vintage barn, the whimsical wall paper, the coffee table, the rug! Can I just live here??? Can’t wait to see the full reveal & what you think of next!!!
