I blogged a sneak peek of this playroom a while back & while it’s not “done” we have made progress & it feels so good to have a space for Cope’s toys and such. The plan for this playroom is to be a space for Cope to play one day, to store all his toys and clothes, & to also serve as a guest bedroom when we need it. We’ve been getting a lot of questions lately about Cope’s nursery. He actually sleeps in a crib in our bedroom & though that space is cute, it’s not necessarily done, but it’s getting cuter by the day & I wanted to come on here today & explain the goal of this timeless playroom that we are putting together for little Copeland Beau. First let’s start with what the room looked like before we got started…
Playroom Before:

& this is what the room looks like with a ton of progress…

At first when I started designing this space I wondered if I was being too “classic” with everything I was picking for the play room, but after making progress in the space I’ve come to realize that the finishes and items aren’t too “adult” but instead very classic & will be fun to add to over the years because they are so timeless and can grow with Cope. What timeless pieces are we using you ask? For starters The sleeper sofa, the end tables, the coffee table, & those lamps are some of the timeless pieces we based the play room off of & they all make the space so cozy & functional. To me timeless pieces are pieces that feel traditional and evoke calm feelings & they can be used with many different design styles.

For this room we worked with Birchlane & their heritage collection. We felt like their Heritage line went with with our cozy cottage farmhouse & we knew their pieces would be durable enough for when little man gets bigger. Thank goodness for well made furniture and slipcovers with toddlers right? The sofa [HERE] is a classic white slipcovered large cozy piece that is also a pull out bed which was the whole base of the room because this space used to be a guest bedroom & the classic pull out sofa allows us to still use this space as a guest room, but also a play room at the same time. I love these sofas that are large but have the oversized cushions because they really amp up the cozy factor & in my humble opinion they hold their structure better. The coffee table [HERE] what one of my favorite finds from the Birchlane timeless collection because I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect cottage style coffee table without edges for this room & I found it! The spindle style legs give a vintage vibe & I honestly want another one of these for the sunroom. The end tables [HERE] were another favorite find because of how unique they are & just plain GORGEOUS. The wood tone is like none other & they really add that garden greenhouse look that goes with the wallpaper. The last timeless classic pieces that ground this area of the room are these white table lamps [HERE]… It’s hard to find the perfect white lamp, but these are it & would go in any space.

This room is built on timeless pieces & I’m so excited to keep going with it. When Cope came we took a little break from working on these spaces, but we are excited to start on them again! I’ll be back soon with the full makeover, but I hope this gave you a glimpse into our plan and progress for this space. What do you think of the space so far and our timeless pieces we styled the room with? What do your playroom spaces look like? Do you have a playroom that fits in with your decor? I would love to chat with you about them on my Instagram [HERE].
*We worked with Birch Lane on this project, but as always all opinions, room designs, & creative work is my very own.
ADORABLE ! Did you mention whether or not the slip covers are washable? I just envision red juice stains! The tables are perfect for the room, we don’t want little Cope needing stitches on his cute little face. The pillows are fantastic too! Love the whimsy look of the poms and the bunny tails, The only thing I would add is a toy box with a bulky bookcase built in. Maybe you are already building one? Can’t wait to see the complete room.
Love love!! Where did you find that adorable bunny?!
Love the room and CONGRATS on little Copeland Beau! Where did you get the wall pic of the Bunny–Love it
What a beautiful and cozy play room. I love how it can grow with him and how it serves multiple purposes for your family.
I was wondering same thing! Love every detail in this darling room 🙂
You are too beautiful job with the play. Cope sure is one lucky little guy.
I think the coffee table is my favorite piece of furniture in this space. I love the spindles and that it has the feel of vintage but is new. Your decorating never ceases to amaze me. Love this room.
Gorgeous transformation. I love the bunny ?

She had a post on this darling print. You must have missed it ?
Where are all the bright colored baby toys that makes this a real playroom ??
The wallpaper is gorgeous! Subtle but lots of detail and has a calming effect. Love it!
I LOVE that coffee table!!!!!! (And of course the whole room!)
This room is really beautiful but I’ve been dying to know where you got the cute animal knit throw! I am not even completely sure what animal it is but I have been eyeing that throw since you first started showing pics of this room!
I love this room…so calming and whimsical… a’ la Mr. McGregor’s garden. The addition of the soft green pulls the whole space together for me. And if Beatrice Potter is timeless then what is?
The wallpaper is a real
Surprise but it totally works with it’s monochromatic tones.
Love it all! Where are the wicker chairs, baskets, and wallpaper from? Love that shelf on the wall best! Is it vintage? So happy for you with baby Cope.the rabbit print ?
Where is the rug from?
I love love this room. As always you have done an outstanding job. You have the gift of making a space so cozy bright a place where I just want to sit and look around at everything and not leave lol. I could just curl up on the couch or the big cozy chair and read a book. I love that it is so bright. My favorite piece is that coffee table. Definitely a have to have. Just beautiful
