About a year ago I bought a basket at one of my favorite shops, Linen & Cake. I bought it for one specific reason.. to hang on a wall filled with flowers, but like many other ideas I have, I forget about it & it get’s put on the back burner… well, I finally gave the purpose to the basket this past week that I bought it for & it was worth the wait because it turned out to be such a happy art piece in our home this spring…

I call this a DIY, but it’s so easy that I’m not sure the DIY part really needs to be talked about because basically this antique basket was hung up with one screw through the tightest parts of the weave on the part that touches the wall. After the basket was hung I took faux florals & started placing them in the hanging basket. I thought About securing them with craft wire, but it wasn’t needed in the end because I fed the stems through the back on the basket weaving when needed. But if your basket isn’t as accommodating, the green craft wire would be perfect to achieve the look you are looking for. I worked in layers for the florals starting with the longer hanging stems & working up to the fluffier shorter floral stems. No exact science, but I just played around with it until I liked the natural farmhouse vibe it gave. You can do this with many different styles of baskets, but I just loved how shallow and wide this basket opening was.

This hanging basket idea is fun because you can switch the florals out as often as you want to change the entire look & it would be perfect for seasonal decor as you can switch out the stems with each new season. I honestly get tired of hanging the same old things on the wall so I wanted to try something new & this idea is fun and fresh for the spring and summer months ahead. I hung this one in our entryway, but you could do this same idea above a dining buffet, TV cabinet, over a mantel, & so much more. I hope this idea inspired you in some way & you can also check my DIY farmhouse bouquet idea [HERE] & I blog every day so be sure to check back daily to see what we are up to! Thank you so much for stopping by! xx

What I want to know is how did you get that huge basket on the plane home , lol. But wow, it looks so good and the florals are to real looking!
This turned out so lovely. I just love the hops vines and the entire arrangement looks great in this vintage basket.

I luv this so much. What a great and easy idea??
Love the basket and your pick of flowers, really nice display. Thank you for the idea.
Can I ask, do you have a favorite place to shop for faux flowers? I’ve never seen anything that looked like hops before or any of what you used. Thanks, I love faux flowers! Looking at old milk stone pitcher full of yellow and white faux tulips, and a vase of faux pussywillows and forsythia as I write this.
Love the basket and the flowers! But what I really want to know about are those shoes! So cute!
Hi. This is so beautiful. Love it. Never would have thought of hanging that type of basket on the wall and with the pretty hanging flowers. Love your ideas.
I’ve been wanting to do this with an old galvanized baby tub but have been afraid to commit! Love this and it’s just what I needed to hang that baby tub! Thank you little mama. Hope all is well with y’all!
