When people ask me to describe my style I typically say cozy cottage farmhouse & when asked what my favorite thing to add to spaces it’s “large scale items”. From large pieces of furniture to overstuffed pillows to oversized art… I love adding at least one large scale item to each space to bring that cozy element in to the space with some drama….

You guys know my love for all things bunnies. I just brought it to a whole new level this week. I had this oversized bunny print in my cart for forever & never pulled the trigger on it because it was a splurge, until after we brought Cope home & I got the nerve to ask for it. I always wanted it for a nursery, but never had a reason to splurge on this large piece of art until we had our son… & it’s one thing that I asked for as a gift for the nursery & here it is. Big, beautiful, & cozy. It’s from Pottery Barn [HERE] & at nearly 5 foot tall & 3 foot wide this piece is even more beautiful in person. I know this will be a favorite piece in our home for a very long time. Cope sleeps in our room right now so I haven’t hung this art work in a nursery space yet, but I’ve been enjoying it in a new corner in our home with a new cozy chair that I find myself snuggling in with Cope quite often. This lovely chair is from Six Penny Home & this table is an antique find from our shop along with this pineapple lamp that I’m in love with. The pillows are a mix of Pottery Barn finds & also from Painted Fox. This spot would look great with many different pieces hanging above it like a gallery wall or smaller scale art, but the oversized art adds a lot of drama & by using one piece it simplifies the space & makes it less messy. Simply cozy. One of my new favorite “feeding spots” with the little dude these days.

Sometimes we find our dream pieces and wait a while to get them so when we finally get the chance to get that dream piece it makes it a whole lot sweeter… remind you of something else? I’m excited to work on a nursery space for little man, but for now I’m enjoying this oversized bunny art wherever it decides to land like this cozy little corner… I hope that you guys find it inspiring as well!! xx
Really! That’s a splurge? I call it a house payment…you need to live in the real world…
Brenda? Liz is one of the sweetest, kindest people. Why would you say that to her? Please, be nice. After all, she didn’t ask you to pay for it.
Love the bunny art! Can’t wait to see what you do with Cope’s nursery! What a special time in your life, thankful to be able to follow the journey!
Mary Lou…she may be the sweetest gal but if you are going to advertise a bunnie picture with a price of $799.00 you are not living in most peoples world…I am a very kind person…I said nothing unkind just the facts…
Love it! Not sure why in today’s world people need to just say whatever they think. Would I be able to buy this print? No, but I when I know what Liz and Jose have been through, I feel nothing but joy for them.
I love this. I think it’s such a great example of scale and balance in design. For people with a smaller budget, be inspired! There are prints available on etsy, a diy frame could be made or try your hand at painting! If you love something you will find a way. I am personally inspired by the soft warm colors in these photos. The feeling created here is perfect.
I, also, don’t understand the need for people to leave hurtful comments. I follow a lot of blogs, fashion, home dec etc. When someone posts a pair of shoes that cost $600 I realize they are not going in my cart but I use that as an inspiration point for lots of other similar options. The same with home dec sights. No one says you should but the print – that’s a choice, just use it as in inspiration. We all have differences of opinions but to tell someone to live in the real world, is cruel!
What’ Interesting is, Liz frequently shops at Target as well. The bunny is an investment piece for sure, but can easily mix with budget friendly decore items.
My mom and I are equally obsessed with bunnies, this piece adds such a nice touch of cozy and character to this space.
I love the balanc eand scale too. Its so nice. I also love seeing things like this and being inspired
Also keep in mind this is a piece of art, something sentimental to Liz, and not just something hung on a wall. Yes I wouldn’t spend that much personally, but that doesn’t mean I don’t know plenty of people who have spent $1000 or more on a piece of art they love to display in their home! It’s an investment piece, and when you know you love something, you know! It looks beautiful. It’s something I know you’ll enjoy forever. And at the end of the day it is your money! Agree with so many others, use Liz’s home as inspiration not verbatim what you should include in your own home. Thanks for sharing with us Liz!
They advertise for Pottery Barn so I’m sure it was either free or one heck of a discount for mentioning Pottery Barns name numerous times throughout her blog.
Brenda is allowed to voice her opinion, too. For the person who said it isn’t something just to hang on the wall, yes it is, and it probably will be gone in a few weeks, to be replaced with something else. The Galvan’s get everything handed to them for free. Liz is all about buy this, buy that. Her blog wasn’t like this at the beginning, but it’s just about the money, the number of followers and wanting attention.
All I can say, if you don’t like what’s said, don’t follow the blob
The inspiration to be found in this blog post is that very, very large art can evoke a sense of cozy.
There are scads of online sources of FREE art, plant & animal illustrations, architectural drawings, maps and so much more that you can download and have printed for significantly less than this particular bunny art. There are also scads of artists and artisans with online shops who may have something similar that will speak to you & inspire.
Linking this specific piece of art to its source serves at least a couple of purposes…
— readers will ask, “where was it purchased?” and by linking to the source in the blog entry, there’s no need for Liz to read & respond to that question.
— yes, Liz does benefit in some financial/monetary sense, either by receiving a discount from Pottery Barn, and/or through an affiliate link relationship whereby Liz is compensated by the source (Pottery Barn in this instance).
Remember folks… this and many, many blogs are businesses, and one of the goals of these blogs is to make money for their owners/writers.
Last but not least… anyone who wants to comment on any blog entry has the right to do, just as the owner of the blog has the right to remove any comments she/he doesn’t like.
In a world where you can be anything, be kind…
Liz I love the artwork, thank you for pointing it out, I love to look on pottery barn for ideas and I missed this… I love to watch and wait to see if items are clearance, which they usually are after a timeframe. Your post gave me another item to wait and watch, thank you, I appreciate the time you spend making my life happy and joy-filled with fantastic ideas.
Regardless of others…Liz, thank you for choosing to be kind.
Never let anyone steal your dreams. And no apologies are necessary for being who you are unless you are hurting someone in some way. And for the life of me I can’t see any harm in purchasing something you love unless you stole from someone to get it. And Liz…. wow….. that bunny has me thinking all kinds of thoughts. Why? Because I’ve been doing a good bit of drawing now that I discovered I’m not so bad at it and there’s a bunny I did recently that I can now see blown up to a much larger size and hanging on a wall in my home. For that I have to say thank you. Had you not posted this I would never have had that thought. Creatives are my favorite people…… They make me think the once impossible is now possible. Thank you!
I am stunned about the cruel things people are writing. How did this world turn so cruel? I personally look forward seeing new blogs and seeing new pieces to use as my inspiration. It really doesn’t matter how much things cost or how they were purchased that is not our concern. The blog is decorating inspiration. Why be so cruel with rude comments. Remember if u don’t have anything nice to see don’t say anything.
Thank you Liz for your inspiration, and for sharing.
Hi Liz
Love the Bunny. So cute. Looks great I your little corner. Did you see the Bunny Scroll at Cottonwood Shanty. Love that too. I thought of you right away. Love all the inspiration you give me. Xoxo
Reminds me of an old movie with Jimmy Stewart made in 1950 called “Harvey.” Harvey was an invisible 6 ft 3 rabbit and Stewart’s best friend. Stewart’s philosophy in the movie is that he would rather be pleasant than smart. Maybe, we should all think about that before we comment. This is a whimsical and charming movie. Sometimes in life that is all we need to make us happy. Your baby boy is so sweet. Enjoy these precious and private moments and your whimsical rabbit.
No one said anything cruel…just facts…if you can afford an $800 bunnie piece of art that will be changed in a few weeks you are not living in the real world…
You are so right about Liz…when she first started she was so down to earth…all about affordable decorating then she had a blog about affordable throw pillows for $140.00…now it’s $800 bunnie pictures…all I am saying is her blogs are no longer budget friendly…there are too many bloggers out there that are all about budget friendly so I will no longer be a follower of Liz or Her store…
Thank you Camille…right on point…
Strange how people react when someone moves up in the world. The entire purpose of a blog is to share personal experiences, tips and ideas and to create an income for yourself. Inspiration at best. The nasty comments reminds me of public responses to a preacher who happens to live in a nice house. Then you hear things like, “How dare they. The money could have gone to the poor.” Never do you hear envious comments about the splurging of celebrities who own house upon house and car upon car, jewelry and all overrated things that should be categorized as splurging. Why does it matter what Liz paid and what she and her husband enjoys? Just find it very odd that people have an issue when someone is not down and out. The entire purpose of a post like this, is to inspire, not to replicate. I think her ideas are amazing. It gives me hope to see how far they’ve come. From the cozy little rental to their own farm. What exactly is wrong with working hard to become successful? Like my mother used to say, “The ones who mind don’t matter and the ones that matter, don’t mind.”
Liz, you guys deserve it all and more! I loved your post and the bunny reminds me of Beatrix Potter’s sketches. Keep it up. May the fruits of your labor be plentiful. I talk about you as if I personally know you. Whenever I do something DIY, it’s something like, “Liz did this or see what Liz did.” Needless to say, my husband knows exactly who you are by now.
Be blessed in all you do. You are an inspiration.
There’s nothing wrong with sharing experiences or becoming more successful. But when the blog started out with DIY and up-cycling, but now gives off mass consumerism *BUY BUY BUY* vibes, it becomes clear that the blog is about greed. It becomes clear that these “sweet stories” and “relatable” tales are simply just creative ways to get people comfortable and their wallets ready. Personally I don’t care how much Liz spends on decor only to toss it out three weeks from now. I just wish she would stop taking a poo lollipop and dipping it in sugar. Admit that you’ve gotten a product for significantly less and it’s because you’ve offered to advertise to followers. My annoyance with this started with this when they lived in the previous home and she claimed she had saved all her pennies for some settees from A Painted Fox that cost thousands, but then it was revealed she’s working with them. Yeahhh. Honesty and integrity keep me loyal to a blogger.
Congratulations on your success. If you can afford to drop $800 on a print, you must be doing well. But I think things like this affect your relatability. Are most of your readers in that kind of income bracket that can afford a purchase like this? I know you have earned your success, but you have earned it by appealing to middle class females who like to decorate. Doesn’t a purchase like this prove that you no longer relate to your target audience?
I don’t begrudge success to anybody, but my definition of success isn’t getting everything for free. Like the golf cart, TMobile or the windows and the list goes on. I like certain aspects of the blog, such as the animals. But when every post or square becomes an ad it’s a turn off. I totally agree with the people who wrote about lacking in integrity and relatability and being all about buy, buy, buy. Why do so many of you feel the need to copy each and everything Liz shows? What are you going to do with all of these faux farmhouse items when it goes out of style?
Sandy, I so agree. I try to be encouraging to others. You never know what they are going through. Sometimes just passing on a smile or just plain being kind/ or do a random act of kindness can really go a long way. And it doesn’t have cost you a thing. But, it sure could make someone’s day.
I can’t seem to reply to some of the comments and I am second guessing my desire to do so, but questions were asked by one commenter….. “Why do so many of you feel the need to copy each and everything Liz shows? What are you going to do with all of these faux farmhouse items when it goes out of style?”
I’m not sure why you believe anyone feels the need to copy each and everything Liz shows. I don’t. But I kind of love this little family after following along for a few years…. and I also like their style. I’m not sure why you would think this look will go out of style… because I’ve been married for 45 years and much of what I see is what I’ve seen in many of my family members’ homes over those 45 years. Yes, this is a modernized version, but, dear one, I’ve been picking up ironstone and Ball jars and architectural pieces and copper and old pots and plants and comfy chairs and pillows and throws and quilts and baskets and old furniture for years… years I tell ya. You young girls are just putting a new spin on all of it… which I happen to enjoy seeing and trying to duplicate from time to time.
You don’t have to be kind when the thought crosses your mind to be otherwise, but I’ll ask a question of my own now. Why not?
Thank you for choices we can all not be the same I love the rabbit picture but know I couldn’t afford but so what I still love it,love your decorating and just do what you love forget about people and there snarcy attitudes. LOVE IT.
I saw your baby on a different page of yours. He is one of the cutest babies I have ever seen. I enjoy looking at your home and decor ideas. I wish you well. Also, do not take some of the remarks people make personal. They probably saw a picture of how beautiful you are and are jealous.
