I’ve been telling you guys for weeks that I needed to style my porch for fall … I don’t know why it took me so long, but I finally did it! Let’s blame it on wanting to snuggle with Cope & Jose & how long it took for the weather to finally cool down. For our porch, I went for an overgrown garden pumpkin patch look. You know when you go to a pumpkin patch and it’s just completely filled with all of the best pumpkins you can find? That mixed with an overgrown secret garden vibe. That’s what I wanted our porch to look like & I think I achieved it…

We completely filled up our porch with all of the best fall goodies. I have to give some credit where its earned, Jose helped me a bunch with this fall porch. He knew I wanted to get it styled, so he just went out there and got started on it for me! To create this porch I stocked up on a bunch of different pumpkins, mums, dried corn stocks, kale, leaf garland, & of course more pumpkins. I got these beautiful boxes from my good friend Brooklyn Finds, when she came to my book signing at the Found Cottage a few weeks back [read about it here]. I brought out all of these goodies to the porch & after a few times of Jose & I going out to the porch and playing around.. this is what it came to look like..

The idea in my head was to have it appear as if the pumpkins were just cascading down the steps. So we stacked them on the steps and arranged them in a way that kind of looks like they are tumbling around & bursting out of the garden. I completely love the look of our overfilled farmhouse porch! One thing I really love about styling and decorating is that you don’t have to follow any rules. The “rules” of design are a great starting point but if you know what you like just do that. If you love the cluttered and messy look, go for it! [This porch for sure falls into that group] I know I feel so much happier and cozier in a space that best represents my family and my style … And I have a feeling you’d feel the same way too. I think some of my favorite spaces I have decorate are the ones that feel a little messy & a little undone. This cozy fall porch of ours for sure is a great welcome when we get home!

I am so so happy to finally have our porch decorated for fall, I hope this gives you some inspiration if you’ve been struggling to get started decorating yours as well! On the blog, I also shared my tips to prevent your pumpkins from rotting early, check that out [HERE]. Thank you for visiting the blog today, I hope you leave feeling more inspired for your home. Here are some of the other fall porches I’ve made in the past!

Eclectic Pumpkin Fall Porch Steps

This fall porch is dreamy. I love the mix of pumpkins, mums, leaves, dry corn stalks and the cabbage. it is just perfectly fall and super cozy.
Looking at the past porch designs this years design is by far my favourite! Question….
because we don’t decorate with pumpkins in fall (autumn) in Australia, just wondering what you guys do with all
those delicious pumpkins when you’re done decorating?
Loving your new cozy, fall porch!!! Everything you do is amazing! I think I see a glimpse of a cool barn in the background of some of your pictures but have never really seen it featured. We just built a barn on our new property and I would absolutely love to see how you would decorate the entrance of it or other parts of it too!! I’m sure it would be amazing inspiration for all of us that have barns! 🙂
Beautiful !!, But have to say , you must not have squirrels running around. They completely destroyed ,and ate every single one I had out on my porch. ?
I asked the same question last fall, and Jose was kind enough to answer. They are used as feed for the sheep, and seeds are planted for next year’s harvest. Nothing goes to waste, which made me very happy ?
Oh my goodness, just beauty! I am such a big fan of the gray/blue pumpkins, beautiful job!
Looks Amazing I would take pictures of this beauty all day every day I can bet that neighbors are jealous 😀
