As Christmas comes and goes, I try to keep the cozy winter spirit alive in our home for as long as possible. It’s always one of the most asked questions that I get… how do I decorate for winter once Christmas is over? It’s true, our homes can seem so bare and empty once the large trees and festive decorations are taken down. To help spark your winter decor ideas, I have styled a cozy winter mantel two different ways. If you haven’t already, check out my how to undecorate for winter post, where I share some more tips on how to keep up some of your holiday arrangements while also adding in fresh decor for the new year. For these two looks I simply switched up the focal point in each of them so let’s check it out…
The one with the mirror:

With this cozy winter mantel option, I added my Anthropologie primrose mirror and Garland. I found these two moss topiaries at a local greenhouse, here is a similar option. The mirror is the focal point and the moss topiaries and garland add the perfect winter greenery touch.
The one with the deer:

My antique deer mount has been a centerpiece to this living room for quite some time now. I know it’s not for everyone, but I have a thing for antique taxidermy. She was in here for Christmas and with this cozy winter mantel, I decided to keep her around. She’s large and in charge on this mantel, so I decided to keep it simple with the moss topiaries.
Isn’t it so neat that just switching out one item can give you a whole new look? I hope this inspires you to do this in your home! Now that I’ve shown you some of my go-to options for a cozy winter mantel, what do you do with your winter mantel after the holidays are over? I would love to see what you come up with on Facebook or Instagram. Thanks for following along today and every day!
