As many of you probably know, we like to change things around a lot. This room that we have been calling our library room for the past year, is no exception. The last time I updated you on this room is when we added the faux wood beams, which you can read about here [HERE]. Well…I decided to change it up yet again and paint the beams!

Our struggle with this room as it has always been just a large hallway that separates the front of our house/the upstairs to the back of our house and our kitchen. While the room was so nice and cozy as a library room with a sofa, it wasn’t going to be great for the long haul of things. We need a more clear & defined walkway in this space & I’m not mad that we have tried many different things in this room to reach this conclusion. We have used this room as so much, but have decided to currently make it a dining room/sitting room of sorts. Well, a library. Picture: cupboards full of books with a big round table & cozy chairs to sit at and read, drink coffee, eat, study, and create. Because of this we made a few changes like adding a round table, chairs, a cozy rug, new light, and did a bit of painting.

We chose to paint the beams just a flat/matte white ceiling paint. I wanted a little contrast in this room so I also painted the light to achieve a dark black look, as the light when purchased was more of a grey color. The table I purchased from our store, The Found Cottage. The chairs are from Lamps Plus when they were on sale & I love the shape of them. I’m still waiting on the rug for this space. This ladder was an antique find from my haul this week [HERE]. This rug is actually for a different spot in our home, but I brought it in here for now as a stand in. You can purchase everything from our dining room by clicking the images below:
I’m going to let you in on a little secret. A lot of the rooms in our home are currently empty and furniture-less! While this isn’t intentional by any means, we are working (slowly) to fill room by room. We are working on a big project at the end of the month that I will be able to fill you more in on later, but I am going to need to start filling our home with furniture for it!

What do you think of this room transformation? Let me know on either Facebook or Instagram. Thanks for stopping by the blog today and every day!
