A while back I picked up this lovely beast off of Craigslist. When I picked it up I was sure that it was a TV stand that I was simply going to re-do, but after working on it, I decided that this TV console could also make a great bench in an entryway, mudroom, or anywhere in a home. I decided to style it a few ways for so that you could see all of it’s potential & different ways that you could use it. First let’s look at a before picture I took via instagram {here}…
This picture doesn’t show how bad this piece was, & I didn’t know until I got it home how much work it actually needed, but it ended up turning out great with a little paint, some new screws, & lots of distressing.
Of course I didn’t have bench cushions just laying around, but you could purchase a bench cushion from Pier 1 or any home decor store. You could even use an outdoor cushion and simply place it on top or attach with velcro strips so it will stay in place.
Using this piece in a mudroom or entryway would be great for your family and guests to sit on and put on shoes & also provides amazing storage. You could store shoes in the cupboards along with baskets for mittens, hats, and scarves.
Here I used two pillows that I had recovered in burlap as the seat cushions. I thrifted this picture last week, & I’m obsessed with it. The sun faded colors with that frame makes me happy. I haven’t decided where this painting will go in our home, but for now it’s been making our way around the house in different spots.
Now for this piece of furnitures true purpose, a TV console….
Using this piece as a TV console can be done in so many ways. Depending on the size of your television, there are thousands of ways to decorate the tv console & style it to work in your home. The storage cabinets are great for DVDs, game consoles, toys, and anything that you need to store in that particular room.
The colors used for this TV console were both by Valspar. The white is cream in my coffee & the taupe color on the doors and on the legs is Frappe.
ย This was a fun makeover & I think this was a great find because of how many uses this piece of furniture can provide. This piece is so functional and versatile so if you see something like this piece, don’t pass it up! I hope that you all had a great weekend & a great veterans day. We have made some progress in our master bedroom & there are some hints in this post about our bedroom {paint color, & pillows
} What would you use this piece of furniture for? Do you have a piece like this in your home? Let me know in the comments below or {here} on the Facebook page.

Greetings from Ohio! I’m bored to death at work so I decided to browse your blog on my iphone during lunch break. I love the information you present here and can’t wait to take a look when I get home.
I’m surprised at how fast your blog loaded on my cell phone .. I’m not even using WIFI, just 3G .
. Anyhow, amazing site!
You actually make it appear really easy along with your presentation but I in finding this topic to be really something which
I think I would by no means understand. It sort of feels
too complicated and extremely broad for me.
I am taking a look ahead on your next submit, I will attempt to
get the hold of it!
