Yah, that’s me in Sams Club after getting 4 inches cut off my hair
{quick cell phone pic to send the hubby,don’t judge}
It’s dyed {Ombre.. so fancy}. My first time getting my hair colored in a salon &
I am 23 years old.. why have I never colored my hair before?? I love it.
If you are in the Louisville area go see Ashley Hair by Benny & Friends.. she is awesome!
When I was contacted this past week to
refinish a dresser that had been in a barn for years,
I was terrified scared.
What condition was the dresser in?
How many layers of paint were on it?
& what else was in this said barn?
Yikes!
I was prepared for the worst.
Needless to say, I had a bonding experiment with this lovely dresser
& I learned so much!
Before…
Okay. So this is after I started sanding & stripping to see what
was under the dingy white paint.
I discovered a plethora of colors which was going to make
me work my little booty off.
I first tried crackle paint on this little dresser…. eeew. Why didn’t anyone warn me how
awful that stuff is. It turned out clumpy & looked awful.
I ended up stripping it at midnight one night because
I hated how it turned out. Crap. Maybe it’s just me. Let me know if you love it
because after this project, I hate it.
So, after stripping & sanding
I repainted the dresser a beautiful white linen.
sanded to shabby chic the dresser & added some
oil rubbed bronze hardware.
The dresser turned out lovely,
but I probably will never try crackle paint unless you have
some great tips for me to try.
Again, why didn’t anyone warn me?
So there is the “Barn Dresser” turned into a little treasure.
I was very pleased that all the hard work payed off.
I sure learned a lot about layers of paint, crackle finish, &
old barn dressers.
It’s a good thing that I love learning.
I hope you all have a fabulous weekend, I am going to enjoy
my last few days here in Louisville.
