This whole changing of the seasons is
doing a number on my skin this year…
we are talking dry patches, redness, & breakouts.
I think my skin is becoming more sensitive as I get older, so I have
been trying a more natural approach to take care of my skin.
I wanted to share with you my journey with natural skin
remedies, starting with a face mask that I love…
There are many benefits to this yummy smelling
honey & nutmeg mask…
Nutmeg… is historically known to be an anti-inflamitory used
for skin problems such as rosacea and eczema.
Honey…Â don’t get me started. I could go on and on about
the benefits of honey for your skin & hair.Â
Honey’s natural anti-oxident and anti-microbial properties
help protect the skin from damage & helps rejuvenateÂ
damaged skin. Honey absorbs impurities from the pores which
makes it a great cleansing pore face mask. Honey is also
an amazing moisturizer & helps keep moisture locked intoÂ
your skin. Okay.. I’m done {for now}. I just love honey!
Cinnamon {optional}…Â cinnamon is an exfoliant and can stimulateÂ
the pores which helps the nutmeg & honey to work better on the skin.
Cinnamon has been used for thousands of years as an Â
antiseptic, astringent, antifungal, & many other other things.
Making the DIY Honey Nutmeg Mask…
I used one of my small mason jars to make the mask
in, so that I could store the leftover mask thatÂ
I didn’t use for another day…
I used equal parts of both the honey & the nutmeg.
This time I left out the cinnamon because
I wanted it to be really gentle on my skin since
it has been so sensitive.
Mix 1 tbsp Honey, 1 tbsp Nutmeg, & 1 tbsp cinnamonÂ
in a bowl.. & there you have your simple diy mask.
Apply this to cleansed skin… leave on your face for
30 minutes… then cleanse skin using warm water.
I recommend testing this mask on your inner wrist
first before using it on your face to makeÂ
sure you will react well to the ingredients.Â
It may not look like a lot, but a little goes a long way!
This mixture will last you for a few days.
I use this mask for a few days in a row,
Then I take a break from it for a couple of days.
You should see an improvement in your skinÂ
after one use of this mask.
Another great benefit of this DIY mask?
It helps with acne flare ups & alsoÂ
fades scars & sun damage on your face.
This mask helps brighten your complexion
and even your skin tone out…
I already see a difference after a few times
of using this mask on my face.
Warning!! This mask smells so good, you will
want to eat it…
I hope you like this little series of skin care that
I am doing… I really want to share with youÂ
my journey with natural skin care. &
the best part is, you can find most of theseÂ
ingredients in your kitchen already.
