As you may or may not know by now…we spend a lot of time outdoors entertaining and doing projects in the Summer! Last week we got our garden in a good place to focus on other projects. You can read more about the garden updates here [HERE]. One eyesore that has been bugging me is the number of weeds that we have growing through our brick and concrete. Having lots of animals and a curious two-year-old running around, we wanted to find a solution that didn’t include harmful chemicals. We found Flame weeding to be the perfect alternative for weed control!
This is how it looked before! Yikes! It seriously would take hours to get just sections done.

This is how it looks after! So much faster, and it saves on the back and knee pain, being bent over picking weeds by hand. So much better! We look to reduce our carbon footprint in any way that we can around the farm and using a propane appliance like this weed burner here [HERE] is just another way we can feel good about using environmentally friendly products.

During flame weeding, propane-powered burners expose weed plant tissue to high levels of heat. When this happens the heat rapidly changes the internal temperature of the plant. Propane-powered pest control is perfect for organic farming or any other producers who want to limit their herbicide use. It’s also up to 90% effective! If you’re interested in reading more about the benefits of propane-powered weed burning, head over here [HERE] to read more about it!

Because each tool is unique, follow the manufacturer’s safety guidelines. Learn more about flame weed control from the Propane Education & Safety Council at propane.com/propane-products/flame-weed-control. PERC has great reminders for us all when it comes to safety using a cylinder too.

I would love to know how you control the weeds around your home. Do you think you will switch to an environmentally friendly product like propane? Let me know on Facebook or Instagram! Thanks for stopping by the blog today and every day!
