Okay everyone knows what time of year it is. It’s the time of year to upset those friends and family that wait until November to finally consider their fall decor. We are knowingly a little ahead of everyone with sharing seasonal looks, but I do really hope to inspire some of your looks and maybe save some money with some fun ways to repurpose older items you already have. Don’t be influenced by me to start decorating for fall early, just check back to my posts when you are ready to start to get your inspiration. If you are joining me in the early transitions this year, you are very welcome here, no judgment as always. If you are waiting… no judgement & these posts will be waiting for you when you are ready! Let’s talk about this Simple Cozy Plaid Fall Tablescape.
The Base Layer
The base layer is the plaid tablecloth. You are looking for something that just speaks fall to you, blankets and I have even done scarfs in the past to set the table base layer. This is a new Fall Tartan Plaid Tablecloth by Hearth & Hand from Target, and actually a rectangular tablecloth, I was looking or a circular one to fit our round table, but they didn’t have one, so I used a rectangular tablecloth to get a little bit more bold & bunched table runner look. We featured two chairs with matching Outdoor Fall Tartan Plaid Throws that matched the table runner to bring more of that plaid into the space & also you can grab one to put around you while you grab a muffin and read a good book. Bonus!
Seasonal Anchors
The two seasonal anchors I added to the table and the basket were dried gourds, and fall faux stems. These adds that rich fall color and texture you would expect from a fall look. Other options are your favorite real or faux fall harvested fruits and vegetables. We’ve done kale, apples, pears and pumpkins in the past.
Add personal touches
The stage is set for whatever personal touches you’d like to add to this tablscape. We did some vintage stoneware cups, and muffins we already had in the house for some incoming guests. Those are not seasonal muffins, but instantly looking at the setting you the eyes (and stomach) tell you what flavors you have on the table and it fits right into the fall look. Other personal touches could be your favorite candle or a set candle sticks in a some pretty brass bases. A stack of plates to be ready for your next meal. Keep an eye on the overall balance and weight of the table, you want to have your eye dance from up to down across the table.
That is as simple as it goes. I hope you enjoy this simple Cozy Plaid fall tablescaple and are thinking of a few items you may already have to get this same look. Fall decor has a special place in my heart here on the farm, and I hope to bring you many many more ahead of the seasons to help you get your favorite looks this year. Ps. Did you sneak a peek at the new clock we got in today in the background? More on that later! Thank you for stopping by blog today and every other day, it truly means the world to me!
