Oh man. Some of you are going to be mad that I’m posting this a day before Halloween. CHRISTMAS DECOR?!? It’s a controversial subject as to when you “should” start decorating for Christmas, but for us this year it happened when my order from Balsam Hill landed on our front porch. You guys, I had no self control! I whipped out the wreaths & the garland & instantly found a place for it in our house. Again, I have no shame or self control so our house is half Christmas & half fall at the moment & I’m perfectly content with that. I wanted to give you a quick glimpse of some things I’ve been playing around with with my new rustic Christmas decor in our rental & just a tiny preview of the items I ordered. Of course nothing is finished & it might not even stay in these spaces, but you know I had to put it all somewhere.
I am loving the Stratford spruce wreaths & the Stratford spruce garland I got from Balsam Hill & man o man I’m loving the little pinecone tree too.. I’m thinking of ordering a few more. I’m literally turning into a hoarder of everything.. someone stop me. Anyways, I NEED TO KNOW, when do you start decorating for Christmas? No worries I’m not going to start Christmas posts full on starting now, but I thought a sneak peek would be fun. Be sure to let me know what you think in the comments below, find me on Facebook, & chat with me on Instagram.
See more Christmas posts from last year…
Love! I actually do my Christmas decorating the first week of November. I like to enjoy all the work for more than a few weeks!
Where is the adorable faux fur throw from?
I’m a first week of November decorator, however, my living room is all ready decorated.
Gorgeous! I will probably start decorating next week…especially since they’re calling for snow here tomorrow…on Halloween! Lol
Love, love, love! If it was socially acceptable to leave Christmas decorations up all year, I probably would! These wreaths are amazing!
I do not know where to start. I guess I will just say … Love, Love, Love, Love Love All of it!!! Great job honey … Happy Thanksgiving, and Merry Christmas !!!!
I love it all! Gorgeous! I don’t decorate for Christmas until the day after Thanksgiving.
Our tradition is the day after Thanksgiving. I really love my fall harvest decorations. So, I guess, I don’t feel the need to switch it up so quickly.
Where did you get the little pine cone tree? I want one (or two)!!! I thought I was loving fall but now I want to decorate for Christmas!
SO pretty. Its awful but i can’t wait for Halloween to be over so i can get started planning for Christmas
The pine is beautiful 🙂

I LOVE that little tree! I want one so bad — where did you get it!
I just posted on our weekly Why I Love It Wednesday series yesterday about decorating for Christmas early. I am an early decorator and I listed the 5 reasons why on our blog. I start the first week and November. The reason is less stress and I want to enjoy it more.
I love it and don’t see a thing wrong with it. I usually put Christmas out the day after Thanksgiving, but for years I had two 4 ft trees in urns on a table and kept them lit all day and night. Didn’t bring them when we moved and I miss them, lol. I say enjoy Christmas as long as you like.
Liz, I am SO IN LOVE with that fur blanket! Where is it from?!?! And I am loving the rustic decor! This is definitely the route I plan on taking 🙂
As soon as Halloween is over tomorrow, I’m eager to start decorating! I LOVE your dining room table decor. Those candles are fab!
I look at it this way- bloggers have to be early birds in their decor to provide inspirations before other people start on theirs. It’s a good excuse anyway. 😉 And yours is definitely inspirational.
Hi 🙂 I have a couple mirrors similar to the ones in your photo. How did you refinish them? I love it! Thank you, Kim
I love to stretch Fall until Thanksgiving. Due to my introverted characteristics, I generally reserve “Black Friday” as my day to decorate for Christmas. I like to use colors and pieces that can last into January. This year I am getting floors put down a few days after Christmas, so my decor may be limited, a sacrifice I am willing to make for the replacement of my stained carpet with dark wood floors.
I like that you mentioned that you are a hoarder. Your blog is a part of my morning coffee routine and, being an (obsessive) organizer, I often wonder how you store decor, and even furniture pieces, that you are not using. Do you have a specific system?
So glad I’m not alone!! The earlier the better 🙂 Happy decorating! xx
It’s actually from Target! We got it last season.. actually two because I’m obsessed haha
haha it kind of pushes you to decorate early huh? Oh man I’m gearing up for snow this year!! week!
Amen Brittney! We were just saying how sad it is to take the Christmas decor down!!!
It’s from Balsam Hill Alli!! I’m obsessed & want three more lol
It’s from Balsam Hill 🙂 I love it too!
Did you make the pillow “I’m so fancy”? Or did you buy? Also the white velvety pillow? Love all of it!!
I see the wreaths and garland are from Balsam Hill? Which ones are they?
Found your wonderful blog through pinterest … now following 🙂
Plus since this is the only Christmas in the LMB rental you get to decorate early, that’s the rule.
It all looks so pretty, Liz! x
Wow! I am in the Christmas mood now. Everything is so beautifully done. You are truly blessed.
Thanks for sharing your beautiful pictures,
Jen
