Wow. I can’t believe this day has come! So this time last week I took these quick cell phone photos of our house all empty when we arrived from our long drive from NC to MI. When we walked in the door we couldn’t believe our eyes. That day the flooring guy installed our floor {I know! Down to the last minute!} That’s how I roll. The kitchen counters went in the day before & the toilets were installed that day too. I’m so grateful for every single person that helped us over the past couple of months to make our house livable & I can’t put into words what it meant for us to leave the military life & have a home to come home to. It’s a great feeling. Now of course it’s no where near done. The stairs are missing the stair nose, we need quarter round installed, we have no bathroom mirrors, lights need to be installed, we need new siding, a deck, a porch added, basement finished, oh the list goes on and on. But this is exciting! Yes, I really wish we would have been here for all the big changes that have already happened, but there is still so many fun things to do for this DIY loving girl. We are finally home!! Now, if you don’t remember what the house looked like before, here is a little before & after with the new “empty house photos”. Please don’t mind my quick cell phone photos, you know there will be many more updates very soon…
The kitchen before complete with three of my favorite men {grandpa, brother, husband}
& this week without appliances, light fixtures & with out the tile grouted, but looking a whole lot better!
Dining room before…
Dining room all cleaned up & looking mighty fine already…

& a couple of updates that I have been sharing on social media that have been happening at the house. Follow #LMBhome hashtag for more updates on Instagram…
That’s it for today. I skipped both bathrooms, the basement, the office, the master bedroom, & the outside for no particular reason just didn’t get photos of those rooms before the boxes arrived. Our stuff got delivered the day after these photos were taken {November 28th- day after thanksgiving}. We have been busy unpacking boxes, sorting through our stuff, putting things in it’s place, & just being super busy with our new life here in Michigan. I’ve been putting a lot of updates on Instagram & Facebook, so be sure to follow there for more behind the scenes photos! xx
It looks so beautiful! I love the combo of the dark floors with the neutral walls….stunning! On a side note, I love those pet bowls!
Wow! I can’t believe how different it looks. So fresh and cozy! You’ve inspired me to look at homes for their potential to be something totally new and beautiful. Can’t wait to see more updates on the new place. Welcome home! – From another Michigander.

Liz it looks SO amazing! Love that you did everything white on white, unique!!
How did you do the paneled white walls? Looking to do something similar and just wondering if they were individual slats?
It looks AMAZING! Can’t wait to see how you style everything once your furniture is in!
I love that paneling! Is that like a bead board product? I can’t wait to see what you do with it! It looks like a brand new house!
Your new home looks amazing Liz! Love the renos. We just had the counters replaced in our home, and I can’t believe how similar our kitchens look (https://instagram.com/p/t-SZJguBIg/?modal=true)! Can’t wait to see how you’ll decorate your new space. I’m new to your blog and have loved perusing your archives. The flooring is great – is that wood, laminate or tile ? I love the silver on the stair edges.
Looking amazing! Can’t wait to see how you set it all up!
The place is looking great. What a difference. I love the color of the wood floors compared to all the white. Ha, and the baby door at the top of the stairs cracked me up. It’s so skinny.
Anywho I know you will have it looking show room ready in no time.

Wow!!! What a difference!!! Is so nice and bright. I know pretty soon you’ll post details about floor and colors on the walls (I can see is not a simple white). Looking forward to see more of your house. Congrats!!!
Nice work, can you come too my house ?
We are from Michigan but are in KY now. Where did you get the Michigan mitten Home Sweet Home pillow?? I want one!
I love the color of the floor – did you end up going with the vinyl plank or is this real wood or laminate?
Id love to know about your flooring! Exactly the look we want. 🙂
