Some days since living in a fixer upper I don’t feel like myself. I used to be that girl who had every inch of the house decorated & could let my creative mind just flow into every corner of our house. & now since every room in our home is not finished & mainly in demo mode I miss those times where I could do full seasonal house tours, so today I wanted to share with you some of the only spring decorating I’ve been able to do & that is our spring piano. It’s kind of like a spring mantel, but on the piano & that’s kind of fabulous…
I wanted to throw something super simple together with pops of green for spring so I gathered up some of my vintage green book collection to start. I arranged the books on top of the piano in kind of a random way. I then used some clear glass vases I picked up at Ikea on top of the books & put some random florals in the vases. I always like my florals [even if they are faux like these] to look like I just picked them from the farm so I let them kind of hang free and wild.
The books and florals are anchored by the glass jug lamps I got from Pottery Barn [HERE] & above the piano is a church sign I found at a flea market. I just moved these vintage theater seats to the piano as well & I love the pop of wood next to the white. I’m excited to re-do this room & get rid of that carpet & make some other big changes, but this room right now is one of the only ones that isn’t ripped up so we are making the best of how it is right now & I kind of love it. I say it in many posts lately… Even if your house isn’t “done” you can still decorate the areas that you live in temporarily to make you feel better about the “in between” stages…
So there you have it friends… spring on our little white piano. If you don’t follow me on Instagram you might have missed that Jose is teaching himself how to play piano which is quite adorable so this piano that came with our house is actually becoming even a bigger part of our family… I love listening to him learning all the notes & putting them together. The whole thing makes life seem more simple & I love that Jose is always wanting to learn more in life. You can see our piano makeover & how we painted it [HERE]. I hope you guys enjoyed this post!
