On a whim this week Jose and I decided to take a five & a half hour drive to Madison Indiana. Well, I should clarify. By whim I mean that I bought a table from a special lady there a while back and we were going to go pick it up. The special lady? Beth from Olde Tyme Marketplace. Do you know her? You should get to! If you love all things white & chippy like I do, you will love Beth & her shop. But, the charming town that we saw when we went to visit her shop today was just the cherry on top…
I’ve known Beth via the internet for a while now & I adore following her daily in her journey. She recently moved to Madison Indiana & opened this shop so of course the journey there to see her was inevitable. Then she posted a table on Instagram & I knew I had to have it… so I did, and here we are. We started off by taking Winnie for a little walk after that long long drive. Oh yah, we took her with us because it was easier for us to tend to her than having someone watch her with the other pups. You know, puppies. She LOVED the trip. She was an angel & I have to remind myself she is only 13 weeks old because she is so smart. Ok, bragging dog mom here. Anyways on our walk we discovered the worlds cutest town in Madison & a coffee shop straight out of a storybook. You know the town in Gilmore girls? This was that, but way better. We grabbed a cup of joe & headed to Beth’s shop & I was so giddy!
Right away After giving Beth a big hug and meeting in person for the first time I knew she would be a fast friend. She is a gem. We chatted for hours & I did some shopping. Y’all, I wanted her whole store. Every single thing. So, while I shopped they played with Winnie & of course Winnie girl loved it & was soon tuckered out and sleeping on the floor of the shop…
Every inch of Beth’s shop is packed with architectural salvage, primitives, antiques, vintage treasures, and the best home decor. I had to hold myself back so many times from buying one of each item. BUT… I did get some great treasures and I will show you what I got in an upcoming post because as I’m writing this I’m in the truck on the 5 and a half hour drive home. Because I couldn’t wait to share their lovely shop & cute town with you! Here are a few glimpses we saw as we toured the city in the pouring rain after some shopping…
So lovely am I right?! I was filled with so much hope seeing trees blossoming here five hours south of us because we have yet to see a tree blossom here in Michigan, so this must mean it’s coming to us soon! You can go to my Instagram [HERE] to see more of my photos from our journey around the town… it was amazing & so inspiring. I found myself gasping at every corner because of how charming this little town was. I even found myself looking at homes for sale. But alas, it was time to leave and hear back to the farm. If you guys can travel to Madison, I highly recommend visiting & checking out Beth at Olde Tyme Marketplace… you won’t be disappointed! Have you guys ever been?! What do you think? Thank you So much for stopping by the blog today & everyday to see what we are up to! It means the world to me! xx
What a beautiful place, so much character in those buildings. Looks like you and Jose had a lovely day out! I saw many treasures there that I would love to have but because I live in southern Ontario that trip would take alot more than 5 and a half hours! Can’t wait to see what you bought!?
I’m with you on checking out the real estate. It looks like a charming area as does the shop! I’m anxious to see the table you purchased (and all the other goodies too).
Omg this place is soooo YOU! So cute!
OMGosh…I love Beth. I got the chance to meet her at the Vintage Market in Nashville. She is the sweetest and I only Wish I could visit her shop. I looking at the pictures and saying ..I want that, no wait I want that too. I just love that at your age you appreciate vintage, cause I’m old enough to be your mom.. lol and my kids would always tease me and say “MOM why do you like all this old stuff” I was chippy before chippy was cool.. Funny huh?? I gotta tell ya I’m a big fan of yours and your family.. And that Winnie girl makes me want to find a GP puppy ASAP!! Love coming your way from Nashville, Joanne

Lovely little town that made New Yorks post for having the highest suicide and drug rate. It’s dad actually living here I’m glad as a visitor you enjoyed it.
Liz, I just have to tell you that I am so glad to have found you again. I started following you years ago when you and Jose bought your little house and you were redoing it. I got so many great ideas from you then. One was a beauty tip about using Thayers lavender witch hazel. Which I still use today. Do you by chance remember that. Every so often I would see posts or something about you on FB. Then I located you on instagram last month and have been able to follow you more steadily, and catch up on you and Jose.
I will be praying for you girl. Dont give up. I also have 4 babies in heaven and now have a 21 yr old daughter who goes to University of Iowa! Go Hawks! A son who is 20 (mama’s boy). Yes 13 months apart. When they finally fixed me they fixed me so good. So watch out girl 😉 I also have a 28 yr old step daughter who I have raised. I am a Gma to 2 beautiful grandchildren. Dont ever give up sweetheart! I know you have your dark days and its very very hard. Just look to the sky and know those angels are looking back. Sounds like you have a awesome husband, family and friends.
Always go with your Mama gut is what I tell my oldest. (She is mine blood or not).

I live in Madison and absolutely love the photos of the town. Many beautiful places to stay while visiting, Clifty Falls State Park, Iron Gate Inn, or across the bridge Richwood on the River Bed & Breakfast. Come visit again!
What have you been feeding Minnie? She SO big now!!!!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE Madison. I’ve been wanting to move there for years. My goal is to move there when I retire. We have been going there for 21 years. Sometimes 3 times a year. I have a very dear friend there. There are so many events there to take advantage of all year long. Chautauqua is one of the best art shows they have in September. Clifty Falls state park is a must. Just west of the town.
Madison is a lovely town. You should look up attic to basement also,it is a antique shop also with a candy store that has older styles of candy
We live in an 1840s house in Madison and we love it here!!
