Do you ever jump out on a limb… with your eyes closed and fingers crossed on uncharted territory? Well… I just did. I’ll get to that here in a minute, but let me tell you what I am up to first!
A few months ago, my good friend and newly adopted business mentor Lena, owner of Farmhouse Frocks, reached out asking if I would ever consider creating a line with them… Umm.. Yes?!?

I have always been a fan of them, from their bags and backpacks, to their iconic jumpers. They have always found a special place in my wardrobe, so I was beyond excited to say yes and create my very own designs for a “Liz Marie” line with Farmhouse Frocks.
Through some rough sketching, a few days traveling to see them in Ohio, and much needed Skype calls, we created a line that I am so very proud of… The magic that the Farmhouse Frocks team worked to take my vision and bring it to life was unreal.

For the first fitting, Jose, Cope, and I jumped in the truck and headed down south to Ohio’s Amish Country, where their store is located. Their jaw dropping shop, nested in the wonderful town of Millersburg, Ohio, was not only shop goals but cute-town goals. We got a lovely tour of the backroads with Lena while we were there and imagined touring Ireland or Iceland even though we were in the midwest.

Rolling hills of hundreds of sheep, horses, and cattle sprawling across them. Clothes lines of handmade pants and shirts dancing in the wind, as if the breeze was their favorite song. Old wood barns preaching to the land, telling tales of hundreds of years ago… just captivating! I could not image heading into my shop twisting around a hill of a hundred Grace’s shouting good morning each day.

Complementing the cute town and beautiful countryside is quite a tall order, and their shop lived up to the challenge. If I could take just a corner of their shop and bring it back to The Found Cottage… it would stop people in their tracks. Their style and overall attention to detail was phenomenal. I mean we all have our showrooms, whether its your house or a shop you own, but we also all have that backroom that you don’t wish on your worst enemy… right? Not here… everything from the shop floor to their upstairs was beautifully styled and so very elegant. Serious Goals!

While we were there we got to meet a few of the people behind the scenes producing the iconic Farmhouse Frocks items… As a business owner, I am completely amazed with the system and process Lena has implemented… again everything buttoned down to the smallest detail. Everything is produced within their town by the local amish community. To keep up with the demand a large portion of the amish community in their area help sew everything together… and to see some of the faces and how appreciative they are to be a part of Farmhouse Frocks, I could not be more happy to be joining this small handmade business.
Farmhouse Frocks has created a significant heartbeat for the community and to help them expand their business and enrich their community the multiple levels of joy that brings me is just overwhelming! As anything I do, I am not sure how it will be received by those out there that follow long the blog here… It just is so amazing that each and every purchase that is made from my line or any line at Farmhouse Frocks was created by someone only miles away from the Farmhouse Frocks Store… handed over to someone that helps transport it, and dropped off at the shop. Where her team, which are composed of her daughters mostly, work on getting it to the customer almost immediately. I am so excited to show off the Bella Tunic, Beatrix Smock, and of course the Winnie Romper. We have a few other items, but you’ll have to come check them out to see what they are!
One of my favorite things about them is that Lena and her team design all of the clothing to fit size XS to 3X.. how cool is that? Not many shops can say that they create clothing patterns to fit all of those sizes. Okay Liz, get to the leap of faith here! Throughout all this excitement of visiting with them, and them coming up to the farm, they have convinced me to have my very first Meet and Greet at their shop to launch our line!

I’ve never done a Meet and Greet. I know a few bloggers and Instagrammers that have done it… I instantly get transported to that 8 year old me, scared that nobody will show up for my birthday party. I truly love meeting people that have come across the blog or have caught a post on Instagram. It is so much fun connecting with people and chatting about anything for projects on the blog, new mom tips, to blogging how to’s. Jose and I are open books and love talking about anything here on the blog or on the farm…

So! I have jumped & committed and the Farmhouse Frocks team is planning a crazy fun night on June 14 from 5pm – 7pm. And due to their shop space and providing food it will be a ticketed event, and those tickets are going on sale May 24, 2019! Jose, Cope, and I, along with some friends from The Found Cottage, will be in Millersburg Ohio, so if you are in the area, check out this link (here) to get all the information and purchase your tickets!

The Farmhouse Frocks team will be putting together an article on fun places to stay, eat, and shop while you are in millersburg. I can tell you just from my brief visit a few weeks ago… come with a truck and maybe a trailer. There are antique shops on every corner!
