Since it took so long for the warm weather to get to us here in Michigan, we are trying to spend as much time as possible outside including time spent cooking & eating. Our hack for eating outside has been setting up a little buffet for dinner in our greenhouse. It’s a fun little way to create an inspiring look for dinner if you planning on having friends over or just the fam … The greenhouse has been perfect for us to bring food outside without having any bugs or pets bombarding it. So I plan on leaving the greenhouse filled with some patriotic antique red, white, and blue as we march into the Fourth of July.

Jose made Martha’s Cilantro-Grilled Shrimp with Sesame Cabbage… If ya’ll haven’t tried that yet, you have too, the Asian Cilantro Sauce is one of my new favorites. Also if you are looking for a skewer set this is the one I used [here] & placed them for serving on a skewer grill plate [here] both from the Martha Stewart collection at Macy’s.

I’d love to know if you have any tips on how you enjoy eating outside during the summer, leave a comment for me! Thank you for visiting the blog today & every day. I love sharing what we are up to at the farmhouse with you guys! Xx Liz Marie

I noticed your table seems to have a raw finish. What treatment did you use to keep the table looking unfinished, yet you must have done something to prevent stains on the wood. I am refinishing a table and would like a raw look but all the sealers, etc take away the raw wood look. Would love a suggestion from you.
This is such a great idea, i.e. the setting, the food, and the fabulous all-American decorating!
You always hit a homerun! And if it is heat and humidity that you wish, visit Missouri, near
St. Louis, where it is stifling. Air Conditioning is a great friend.
I like to make a cucumber salad in the summer as it’s sooo refreshing. Grilled corn on the cob is always a winner along with Sangria or Moscow Mules! I grilled salmon on a cedar plank the other night & it was delicious. Bon appetite ‼️
All of your patriotic décor is so dreamy and screams summer vibes. I love it! Admittedly I am ready for fall( I know its way to early but I am a fall soul), but this makes me excited to hold on to summer just a little longer:)
We have a screened-in gazebo with a ceiling fan near a pond with a waterfall in our back yard. It’s a great place to “get away” while being steps from home. A small table accommodates 4 for a meal. My piece of heaven, especially when the frogs sing!
