The amount of time that is just flying by is unreal. I cannot believe I am typing this up again, but here it is… my fall market, the 2019 Found Cottage Mercantile Market is back!

If you don’t know, I co-own a shop, The Found Cottage in Hudsonville, Michigan. It is a cute little boutique that carries home decor and antiques, clothing, jewelry, baby, a little bit of snacks, some candles, and paint… It really tries to provide everything you may need to achieve your ultimate cozy, and I am so happy I can be a part of it and share it with all of you.

I could go on about my shop, but let’s get to the reason for this post. Each year, The Found Cottage hosts a vintage market at the Ottawa County Fairgrounds, and we consider it a launch to all things fall.
The market hosts roughly 150 very curated vendors to bring you everything from vintage and antique, to clothing, plants, jewelry, candles, food, and everything home decor.

There are so many things about this market that mean so much to me and that I am so grateful for. One of those items is too deep and emotional for today, but I will share that incredible story next week, after the market. One of the many things is being able to reconnect with some distant friends. In this crazy digital world, we are so grateful to have made some close friends from all around the United States… and some of those friends of ours are vendors in this market. We look forwards to reconnecting, hearing all about the adventures over the year, and resurfacing some inside jokes that make you laugh so hard, you feel like you’ve done an ab work for 3 days straight.

Another favorite thing is (of course) the shopping. When we say this market has been heavily curated, we mean it. We are so thankful for all of the applicants to our market, but to keep the market manageable, the vendors happy, and the customers blown away, we try to ensure we keep our market small and not overwhelming. We feel in order to keep the market packed with enough variety of all the things from all different genres of style & design, we keep our vendor number around 150 and put together a wonderful spread of food trucks and food/drink stands. So many favorite pieces of mine, from small items to add to my collections to the long wood bench we used in our entryway, came from this market.

Lastly, another favorite thing about this market is the ability to share other shops like ours. We have so many vendors that are local to our area, that have shops themselves. We love that ability to help introduce them and give them a little extra love and exposure to the customers of The Found Cottage.

I hope I can continue to write this post every year and host this market for many more years to come. If you are interested in joining us, the Market starts at 3pm on Friday for Early Buyers and 9am on Saturday for the main show. I hope you join us this coming Labor Day weekend and come launch the fall season with me and all our wonderful vendors. Xx Liz Marie

Wishing you all the best at the mercantile market. What fun. For those of us who live so far away, I truly wish you had more products available for purchase at “The Found Cottage” online. There is hardly anything there ? I check regularly, and it’s always the same stuff. Nothing exciting and nothing that screams “Liz Marie”.
Oh how I wish I lived closer! I hope you all have a fabulous market and perfect weather to kick off fall. Coming to The Found Cottage is on my list of must go places. It’s right up there with Magnolia, Laurel Mercantile and The Pioneer Woman! Some day!
Another awesome Market has come and gone. What wonderful weather we were blessed with this year. The crowds were incredible and they made the Vendors very happy! I took so many pictures for them in front of the Yurt and pumpkin/gourd/mums. Thanks for the memories.
