Okay, so this room has gone through a lot of changes over the years. First, it was the dining room, then it became our office, and then it was a dining room again. We had both our sunroom and this room as a dining rooms… They are about 10 feet apart so it just got to be too much having two dining rooms so close together and we never used both of them. So we decided to create a cozy nook in here and turn it into a den! It’s in an in-between process & we have some big plans for the space, but I wanted to give you an update today because how it looks now could offer some inspiration on how to style a seating area with shelving.

Now that we brought our dining table into the sunroom which has been an amazing change this room that is less than 10 feet away was just a waste functioning as another dining area. We wanted a seating area without a television where we could just relax in, read, & talk & that’s exactly what this space has become. I love that this area looks out onto our orchard and knew it’d be so peaceful to sit in here. In case you were wondering our orchard consists of 2 pear trees, 4 apple trees, 1 cherry tree, 1 mulberry tree, and a bunch of grapevines. A small happy area of our farm that bears fruit and attracts a lot of wild life from birds to bees to furry creatures at different seasons. It is the perfect little orchard for our far & the perfect little view from our new den area.

The den turned out so cozy and kind of gives me library vibes with our built-in shelves. We just moved these Ikea Stocksund chairs in here with this end table [HERE]. I’m sure things will change in here once I have time to style the space. Also, stay tuned because next week new windows are going in this space to make it safer & help us get a better view.. more on that later! For now this is the perfect spot to sip on coffee, read a book, or relax after a long day. When I created this space I really wanted to focus on relaxation and all things cozy!
I LOVE that lamp! Where did you find it? Thanks!
Did you put slipcovers in the IKEA chairs. I love the style and color you have but don’t see that on the IKEA site
I believe Liz bought slipcovers for the Stocksund chairs from a company called “comfort-works.
Hello, I’m trying to find the paint colors for your walls, trim and floor??
I adore this as a den. What a beautiful space to sit and view an Orchard. I dream of having a space like this one day.
It’s so warm, cozy and beautiful….I would love to curl up with coffee and a book. May I ask where you purchased your Velveteen Rabbit frame. I have looked at some for several years, but I really like the color of this against your cream walls.
Hey Robyn, my slipcovers are from Bemz! https://bemz.com/en-us
Yes please Where did you get the Beautiful lamp??
very creative .. Did you put slipcovers in the IKEA chairs. I love the style and color you have but don’t see that on the IKEA site
I really love how your style is evolving. The built-ins really are anchoring the space and trinkets. I’ve always love your collection of antiques, but I felt that the initial style you were creating in your farmhouse wasn’t as clean as it is now. Even though there is a lot, it is not cluttered feeling.
Yes the ikea chairs are slipcovered. We get our slipcovers from Bemz!
