What is a preset?
A preset is a jump start to editing your photos. All photos can be “edited” after you take them. Common edits are done by adjusting exposure, highlights, whites, blacks, shadows, and contrast. There are many other areas to adjust but that gets very complicated the more you go down that road. Those adjustments can be saved, and that is how we made our presets. Once you have a preset, it is one click to edit your photo & it adjusts everything!
How do I use presets?
In Lightroom, you’ll upload your photos you’ve taken and then apply the preset to your photos. The preset is saved under the “presets button”. You’ll select the preset you’d like to apply to your photo and click the checkmark to apply it.
What is lightroom & how do I get it?
Lightroom is a very popular photo editing application from Adobe. It is unbelievably powerful and is widely used across all levels of photography. Lightroom comes in a desktop format and Mobile, and if you purchase a Creative Cloud Account you can sync them together, allowing for all your edited photos to appear on your phone or your computer at the same time. Lightroom can be downloaded on your desktop from Adobe and the mobile app can be downloaded from your Apple or Android App Store.

What settings do you adjust the most?
I typically adjust settings under the light tab [exposure, contrast, highlights, shadows, etc] and settings under the color tab [vibrance, saturation, temp, tint, etc]. My secret tip is not to forget the mix button. To find this go into the color tab, click the mix button, select the color you want to edit, and then bring the luminance up.
Which are your most used presets?
Currently, I use the Grace preset the most – you can only get this preset with the pre-order of our children’s book. You can pre-order the book and redeem your preset here. My other favorite presets are the Freddy & the Winnifred!
Can anyone use them?
Yes anyone can use these! Whether you want them for your photography, business, or personal use they are for anyone. Presets make editing your photos so much easier, simply edit your photos with one click.
Can presets be used on desktop and mobile?
Absolutely! These preset can be used on both the desktop version of Lightroom and Lightroom Mobile. We use these presets on the high-quality images that we use on the blog AND we use them on our Instagram photos daily.
