My obsession with stenciling continues…As many of you have seen in my last DIY post, I am currently obsessed with stenciling. After receiving my stencil from Royal Designs, I constantly think of projects I can do with my amazing new stencil. I decided that I really wanted to stencil a wall in my house, but couldn’t decide which one to do. After a while of thinking, I decided to tackle a wall in our master bathroom. The bathroom is a pretty, simple, light gray color with simple white & gray accents so I thought a fun stenciled wall would liven things up. The only natural light in this room is a window above the shower, so the lighting is not that great, but here are the Before & After photos…
Before…
After…
The bathroom is an “L” shape with the toilet in a separate room. & my vanity closet is to the left.. {you can see the post on my vanity closet here.}
I love my stenciled wall.
This stencil {Elegancia All Over} has so much detail! I used a normal painting sponge, & latex semi gloss paint. They all turned out pretty well, the quality of the stencil is amazing & made this whole process really easy by not allowing errors or paint drips.
Here is a picture of the wall with no lights on. The color of the stenciled areas is called “Sun dried Kelp” from the Martha Stuart Collection. This is one of my new favorite colors.
I am not going to lie.. this bathroom wall took me forever to stencil. I don’t know if it’s just me being slow, or me not being able to sit and concentrate on stenciling for long, but it really did take me a few days of coming back to it in my spare time. Keep that in mind when you start your stenciling projects!
Okay. I am really disappointed about the picture quality so you could see the true “awesomeness” of the stenciled wall, but this will have to do for now. I need someone to give me “picture taking 101” for me & my little Nikon. Any takers? Have you been into stenciling lately?
