As many of you know we live in an amazing rental right now. I mean I’m in love with it. It’s a historic home in the downtown area & there are all these amazing little spots in the house that make my heart happy. Well, one spot that is pretty cool in the house is the back steps leading into the house. They needed a little work, but even being a little shabby they were still pretty cute. Last week they got a little makeover with the power of paint & I decorated them for fall & now they are looking extra snazzy.
The stairs are looking so crisp & clean now with the fresh paint. & this color is a much better idea for this high traffic area. We walk on these stairs daily & the darker color hides the leaf stains, shoe prints, & just the daily dirt this area gathers. & freshening up the white made a huge difference too!
I have to admit this DIY was done by someone other than me, but I thought the before & after was pretty epic not to share. & it was a DIY done on our lovely rental so it means something to us. I just get floored by the power of paint every single time. The painter used Behr Marquee Exterior paint in Cold Steel for the steps. He also freshened up the railing using Behr Marquee exterior paint in ultra white. He wanted to use a darker color because it’s more durable & also matches our front porch.
I used a mix of real & faux pumpkins & just arranged them going down the stairs. Of course I include some fall mums because I love them. Decorating stairs for fall is the easiest fall decor project & it would look great on indoor & outdoor stairs. I love this stairway makeover & these fall stairs are making me really happy.
