So, moving back to Michigan has been quite exciting for many reasons. A lot of people are like, “Oh you moved back in the winter, why?” or “Why would you move back to the cold?” or my personal favorite ” Don’t you know it’s cold there?” Ummmm I have no answer to any of those besides, Michigan is awesome. I love the snow, I love the hot summers, I love the sites, I love the lakes, I love the people, I love the opportunities, & most of all I love that it feels like home. A few things happened right when we moved home that just proved this is where we were supposed to be in the moment & that really showed us why God put us here. I won’t go into boring details, but a lot to do with jobs, schooling, family, & new opportunities. One opportunity that was exciting & a big “Welcome to Michigan” was when Michaela, a wonderful interior designer & creator of The Bloom Workshop, contacted me to speak on the expert guest panel. Say what? Little old me? I was elated! Of course I said yes & so in May of this year in Grand Rapids I will be on the expert guest panel which is a time during the workshop where attendees can ask a panel of experts questions about blogging, social media, business, design, photography & other areas like that. I am so EXCITED! I’m just honored to be a part of something so inspirational to help people in their creative journeys & creative business. That’s me. Just a creative person enjoying this ride in life just like some of you so it’s fun when there are workshops that cater to these things to help us all feel confident in what we do. Creative women rock! Point blank. & we should celebrate that everyday.
Here are some photos from one of the Bloom workshops last year. I mean, even the setting is inspiring. The conference is meant for women who are eager to learn about blogging, social media, photography, interior design and styling. Bloom’s goal is to share knowledge on how each of these topics work together to help take blogs or businesses to the next level. Bloom’s mission is to help fuel women’s creative passions, establish authentic community, and help each attendee feel confident in their small business or blog. That’s powerful. Women empowering women to succeed in there endeavors. That’s where it’s at. Everything from the setup to the location, to the classes, to the people, it’s all inspiring & I can’t wait to be a part of it all.
If you would like to be a part of it all as well & attend the workshop on May 28th in Grand Rapids, Michigan I would love to see you there & spend time with you. If you feel like you could benefit from the workshop, I am offering a 15% coupon code: BLOOM15 Just use that at checkout & you are ready for loads of inspiration, knowledge, practice, & meeting some new creative friends.
Ok. Sorry for the overload of photos, but I am already feeling inspired! I encourage you to check out the Bloom workshop website whether you are in Michigan or anywhere else in the country as they are offering workshops all over the country starting this year & growing every year. I’m excited to update you guys on this & I’m sure I will blog all about it after it happens. Pray nothing embarrassing happens. Or maybe that will just make me more relatable. Yah, we will go with that. Also, I know I have said it before, but thank you for all the kind words & warm welcomes as we have moved to Michigan. You really find out who supports you in life & who is there for you & you all have been so supportive & we appreciate it! Let me know in the comments below if you have been to a bloom workshop, what you think of the idea, & what you think of the little glimpses into Bloom. & be sure to find me on Facebook & Instagram too! xx
Oh my goodness, am I the first to comment?? That NEVER happens. =) I’ve heard about The Bloom Workshop before and noticed there will be one in Los Gatos, CA in April. (That’s next to my home town) I am interested in buying a ticket but am a tad nervous. I launched my tiny, little blog in October, and am eager to learn about the industry. You’ve been a blogger for a while, what’s the best way to actually gain the courage and attend one of these? I know it’s all about supporting one another, a lifting each other up, but goodness, it can be quite intimidating when you’re first starting out. Thoughts?
Hi Liz!
I just registered for the workshop in Michigan! I will be coming from Ontario, Canada and couldn’t be more excited! I do not currently have a running blog or business but am extremely enthusiastic about photography, fashion & interior design! I hope that it is OK I as a total newbie to the industry and more a “fan’ than a contributor have registered. I am hoping to eventually get my own creative outlets, blogs and small business up and running and think that this will be the push I need to take that leap!
Greatly looking forward,
Sarah
Congratulaions! They are lucky to have you as one of the expert speakers! Isn’t it cold there though? Lol.
Bloom sounds AMAZING. Wow. The pictures and description sound like a really welcoming and informative workshop.. those pictures alone give me such good feelings 🙂 What an inspirational space!!
I just started my blog in the last few weeks, so I am so eager to attend a workshop like this.
I will keep this on my radar, just in case.. I would so love to be there. I’m in Ohio, so I understand how a place can be arctic, then tropical, but just feels like home 🙂 The midwest is blessed to have you!
After reading the description of the workshop on their page, sounds like it is more than ok to be a newbie!! I am a newbie too. You’ll probably get tons out of it since you’re just starting out. 🙂
Hi Mandy!
I am the co-founder of Bloom! We’d love to meet you in Los Gatos! It’s my home town 🙂 You have no reason to be nervous. In fact a lot of the girls who come are new to the industry, and they end up leaving with lots of friends in the same boat/creative industry/blog world as them 🙂 And if you’re nervous when you attend, I can hang out with you! We make sure Bloom is super genuine and not intimidating at all! I do remember being a new blogger and it being a little nervewracking to show up to workshops and events like these, but rest assured you will really enjoy it and be SO happy you came 🙂
xo
Michaela

Hi – My friend forwarded your latest post to me. Such a great blog! Could you tell me where in Grand Rapids the event (& pics) you have posted today was held? My daughter is looking into having her wedding and reception in MI (we live in IL) and the venue looks beautiful. Thanks! Julie
Hi Julie–
The pictures Liz posted in this post are actually from our Atlanta workshop, so not in Grand Rapids 🙁 However, we have had our workshop in Grand Rapids at Hydrangea Blu in Rockford and we just heard of another new venue in Ada called Bieker Farms. It’s STUNNING! https://www.biekerfarms.com/home/
Hope that helps,
Michaela (co-founder of The Bloom Workshop)
What gorgeous photos and fun, that sounds wonderful! Thanks so much for hosting, happy Friday, xo
