So this is so random. This post is just a my train of thought that I had today & be prepared for how random my thoughts were. First of all I wanted to display my terrarium of cotton that I picked in North Carolina before we moved. Our terrarium with the cotton was tucked away in our office & I wanted it in a more central location where we would see everyday. The cotton holds lots of memories & I didn’t want it to be hidden away any longer. I got this idea in my head to move it into the upper living room, but I had nothing to set it on. Insert rusty antique stool from our garage. Oh & then Mr. LMB made some spoon and fork art today, & then my mother in law made some pillows & dropped them off at our house. I mean that’s how random today was & that’s how random this post is…
This isn’t a permanent setup, but more of a temporary fix to be able to display the cotton in our sitting room. It’s quirky & fun & I love how many memories this cotton holds for us. Like I said before, this stool was in our garage under a pile of things we have yet to unpack & the cotton is from some cotton fields by our North Carolina home. We kept the cotton in a terrarium that I picked up at Hobby Lobby & I kind of love the combo.
& my beautiful mother in law made these cute little pillows [actually these & a bunch more] to put in my lovely little booth here in Michigan. I put them in my living room before I brought them & I almost decided to keep them for myself. I love the contrast with the black in the space. It was hard to drop them off at my booth today let’s just say that. For some reason these pillows remind me of spring & have got me really inspired for all things spring decor. What do you think of them?
& then Mr. LMB went & made this super cute kitchen art. I just set it by the stove while I was playing around with it to see if it would fit in our kitchen. This wouldn’t be the permanent spot so don’t worry about us burning our house down over some spoon & fork art. We picked up the fork & spoon the other day at Hobby Lobby & the put them on this antique door we had. Originally he made it for our booth, but seriously it’s so adorable I really don’t know if I can part with it. Decisions! So, if you live around me, this art may be in my booth soon for you to have in your kitchen. You might have to rip it from my cold dead fingers, but it could be yours haha. Isn’t he awesome though? I loved this idea of his & I love how it turned out. I need a bigger kitchen for all this kitchen art he keeps making!
Seriously so random, but cute no? Just a little glimpse into an afternoon in my brain. & I may or may not have written this while watching the Bachelor so if nothing made sense, blame the girl drama. I actually have never seen the Bachelor ever in my life, but there was a girl on there from my hometown so I decided to tune in one day & then as per usual, I was hooked. Funny how that happens. I’m rooting for Britt. She’s adorable. Do you watch the show? Who are you cheering for? What do you think of my new temporary cotton display? The pillows that my mother in law made? & how about that fork & spoon art that Mr. LMB made? Let me know in the comments below, find me on Facebook, & chat with me on Instagram. xx
Sometimes random is good! love the terrarium with the cotton honey ! Have a great week ! XOXOX
I have to say the Bachelor and the Bachelorette have been my guilty pleasure for a long time now. My husband thinks I’m nuts to watch it. But it is entertaining. 🙂 I like Britt but not sure she will do very well living on a farm. Tune in to next week to see how she does. 😉 I love the things you acquired so randomly! What fun that was! Love the kitchen art!
Love the cotton, love the pillows, love the kitchen art…. Now Britt, she is beautiful!!! But I do not picture her being happy in small town Iowa, which is where I live
Love it all! How did he attach the spoon and fork to the boards?
I am a DE native, but always enjoy passing the cotton growing in your southern fields. Plus who hasn’t seen GONE WITH THE WIND and not had a memory of cotton growing! I was just gifted with 3 large stocks of cotton. How should/or can I display it? It looks lost in a white pitcher by itself. HELP!!!
Very cute! And I love the look of the unfinished stool – rustic & fits so well!
I LOVE the fork and spoon art 🙂 I think you just put a trip to hobby lobby on my calendar for the day. What a talented guy!!
Oh never let a little thing like fire safety get in the way of loveliness in the kitchen. I have a wood framed, print hanging above my stove to cover the wall until the tile goes in – all good so far. Temporary or not – love that little piece of art you’ve created.
You have the. best. style. ever. Love you and your blog. I too am a bachelor/bachelorette addict, my husband and I have been watching for years. And I have a random question. Where do you get your vintage style plain t shirts? Love the look and not sure the best place to shop for them. Thanks for all you do:)
I love love love quirky, so that stool in the corner totally works for me. I think it is just so fun when things work out that way. And the pillows? I need/WANT them! They are my colors and my size and I have a place for them, but alas, not anywhere near your fun shop. I am putting a trip there on my bucket list right now. And the kitchen art? Yup, hubby gets a big thumbs up on that one!!!
I soooo enjoy you and your posts and your home. Thank you!!!
I love your couch pillows–the large linen ones, where did you find those?
Whoops–I think I see from a prior post that they’re H&M 🙂
Love the cotton, and even better that it holds special memories for you:) Everytime I see your living space, I just want to drink tea and cuddle under a blanket and never get up!
Question about your range… It’s a Samsung, no? How do you like it? We are ready to select appliances for our new house and that slide-in range is a front-runner. Does it have feet you can adjust so the lip on the side covers your countertop? I noticed it’s sitting next to it with some space. Also, what does the exposed left side look like? Thank you!
Everything looks adorable. Love that cotton plant collection!
OMG I totally love that quirky cotton terrarium. Love things that are appealing to the eye but have reason and sentiment behind… thats saying a lot coming from someone who’s not the most sentimental. But yes, I love the bachelor. I don’t watch every season, but when I do, girl I’m hooked. Brit is a fave but there is one other girl I love but they haven’t shown much of her yet. She’s the girl that told him kissing is something she wanted to wait a little before doing.. Ugh, i forget her name but she seems to have a good head on her shoulders and she’s beautiful too! Anyway thanks for the post!
Alma
It all looks great. Would you mind telling me the name of the plant on the table?
I am in love with the cotton terrarium look! I have been looking for chairs that are similar to your 2 grey ones featured in this post. Would you mind sharing where you found them?
The plants are actually from Michaels Kathy & they are faux plants.. the best 😉
They are from Marshalls Anna & I ‘m obsessed with them! Great deal & super cozy.
Hey Nicole! LOVE the range very much! The side is actually black {we have to add a cabinet to the side to hide it, but to be honest with you it looks great on the side for now without it. It does have feet, we have not adjusted it in any way yet because we are waiting to figure out what to do with the other side first. I will keep you updated on how that works yet. I have to do a post soon on it for sure! xx
The large linen ones are actually from Ikea! Hope that helps 🙂 But H&M has great pillows too! xx
Hey Rebekah it was a combo of wood glue & screws! Hope that helps 🙂 xx
I would LOVE some cotton in a white pitcher! I think it would look beautiful in a vignette or as a table centerpiece. I say go with that idea!! xx
HAHA I hear you! I think you would know better 😉 I can’t believe I’m in to this show now.. It’s a little fun. Who are you rooting for??
haha glad this random was good 😉 xx
I love the kitchen Art. My man has done something similar above our stove, but the fork and spoon are GIANT sized. We found them in a friends loft!! We’re constantly doing and making in our home too. Mr H says if he stands still for too long he’s in danger of being painted or upholstered lol.. I’m looking for designs/fabric/ideas for cafe curtains for the kitchen and came across your blog. Brilliant, I love it. Can I ask is burlap what we call jute? (I’m in the uk)
