Ok. That post title is really lame, but at this hour of night & how random this post is, it’s all I have! So, lately I’ve been feeling really “stuck” with our downstairs living room. I just feel like it started great, & then I just stopped working on it. Then it just bugged me. I all of the sudden got inspired today to make some big changes in the space so I decided to document the space before we start with the changes because I have a feeling it will be really soon. When I get an idea in my head, I just go with it!
These lanterns I replaced our side table with for the summer. The side table was never used & kind of big for the space, so these work here for now. they are from HomeGoods & all I did was place some large battery powered candles from Target in them & place some greenery at the bottom. Pretty cool! These probably won’t be staying here, but for now they are fun & work with the space.
Some plans I have for the space: Add a sofa table, add a sectional, reupholster the chair [not pictured], add lamps, get rid of a lot of the decor & switch it out, remove the doors possibly, & remove the ladder and all of that because the sofa will now be in the corner, build a TV console for the tv [not pictured on the other side of the room], & so on… that is just a start. Don’t worry, when we finish the basement we will have a third living room down there & these couches will be used there. We are not wasting any furniture around here. Always recycling!
Now on to some fun news. I started a new hashtag on Instagram! Each week I will pick a a topic like “living room” or “centerpiece” or “gallery wall” and so on & I will start by posting something in our home & then that week throughout the week you can post your photo of that weeks topic & hashtag it with #LMBloves & @LizMarieGalvan so I get notified of it… & I will feature some on my Instagram & maybe even some here on the blog. Seriously fun & I’ve been wanting to do this for like a year so I’m excited to finally be doing it. You guys are so talented & I just want to see your work & show it off! This weeks topic is “family room” & ‘living room” you can see my post on my Instagram with more details & you can post your photos of your “living room” or “family room” & use the hashtag #LMBloves & @LizMarieGalvan. It’s also fun to look through the hashtag at other peoples photos & find some new accounts to follow & photos to like! I hope you all love it & have fun with it! Let me know wha you think of our living room changes, our lanterns, & the new hashtag in the comments below, find me on Facebook, & chat with me Instagram.
i really love your style, but this space just has way too much in it. the trunk and things on it in front of the coffee table need to go, and pair down the pillows. I love me some pillows, but this looks like there is no where to sit, and there are even more pillows pilled up in the corner
Veeta, I was going to compliment Liz on how comfortable her sofa looks with all of the pillows and saw your comment and felt the need to respond. Why would you ever tell someone that something in their own home needs to go? So rude (in my opinion). My home is filled with things our family loves, some things old, some new, different colors but each and every thing means something to us and therefore fits just lovely in our home.
Liz, I love your home, love your blog and love how you find these perfect finds at Home Goods, Target and other affordable stores that are all over and show us how to decorate. Keep doing what you do.
I love how the room looks! Fantastic job as always! The Instagram idea sounds like a lot of fun too!
I love your space, those door are gorgeous!
Love this room!!!!! We are in the process of moving so I won’t be able to participate in the hashtag fun (for now) but excited to see the posts!! 🙂

The most eye-catching in this room is the clock. Vintage. I love it.
Oh, yeah, I know how it feels to wanna tick to your idea!!! The lanterns look cool and I like that you always recycle the furniture. Have a great weekend! Gabriela
