Last week our house was finally painted & it’s now looking more and more like our dream farmhouse. I was waiting for the house to be painted until I really started doing anything on the outside.. I don’t know why, but I just wasn’t that motivated. Well, this past weekend I took a few minutes of my day to start playing outside on the porch & it was quite magical. It finally wasn’t hot here in Michigan for a day so I hauled out things I had been saving for our big “someday farmhouse front porch” & was in all my glory. I didn’t get far before I got distracted by other more pressing things, but I did manage to do a few things like hang a sign that my amazing from Feather & Birch made for our last house that I decided to hang in front of our front door because it made it quite charming I thought…
Eventually the front door will be changing, we will be decorating the porch, & those pups will be getting a hair cut, but for now I think this hotel porch sign is quite charming as you walk up to our house. Also how cool is it that I get to hang artwork from a friend on our porch? So fun! To hang the sign we used a simple picture hanger on the back of the sign and put a nail into the house, but after doing that Mr. LMB said we should have just put a screw right through it to make it super secure & permanent. He’s a smart one that Mr. LMB. When we work on the porch more we will decide whether or not we will keep it there, move it, and so on. But for now, I love it.
I hope you guys liked seeing this quick look at our porch update. I am so excited for the big things like new doors, plants, & large pieces, but the small details are important too. I will be sharing a lot of farmhouse porch updates to come. Thank you so much for stopping by the blog today, it means
Love the sign Liz! I am already hoarding things for when our house is completed.
Love the look! Sign is adorable as are the doggies. The details of your porch railing and trim are so pretty. And painting the house white was a great decision. Love your blog :+]
Liz your house looks great painted white! I’m so happy to follow you along as you make this lovely home even more beautiful.
Wow, this article is nice, my sister is analyzing such things, so I am going to convey her.
You are an idiot!!!
Look at me! Look at me! I’m so talented, I can hang something on my porch and of course that requires me to write a book about it!!! You are ridiculous!!!
I love your porch sign. And I love the story that goes with it. Keep telling us your farmhouse stories. I love every little detail. Those who make unnecessary, rude comments should find someplace else to play.

The old saying if you can’t say something nice, say nothing at all.. In other words keep your sourpuss attitude to yourself . If these ladies don’t care for your blog why do they read your posts?
There are couple bloggers for whom I don’t care but just deleted my subscriptions, don’t visit their blogs anymore. Our own personalities and lives perhaps color way we think of other people,
but we don’t need to be unkind.
I happen to really like your sign, don’t necessarily think I would hang one, just personal preference for whatever reason. Will be great seeing what you do with your new farmhouse. Think would be fun and lots of hard work fixing it up whatever way you do it.
Have wonderful week
Thanks for th good info!
