At Magnolia Market a few weeks ago I found a lot of cute little things to pack in my suitcase & bring back to the farm. I wish I could have bought more, but alas they frown on you taking a dresser as your carry on. One of the most irresistible items was a couple of tea towels. When I saw them I instantly knew I needed to get them & of course not use them as towels, but as art.
Please forgive me as this was the hardest thing ever to photograph. I promise it looks adorable in person. But anyways, I hung the recipe tea towel in our dining room next to the large antique hutch. The wall needed a little something, but I didn’t want to clutter up the room so this light weight towel added the perfect little texture to the corner. & what’s cuter to hang on your wall than a recipe? My first plan was to build a frame for the tea towel like I’ve done so many times in the past, but this time out of pure impatience & wanting to try something new. I used T-pins to hang the towel on the shiplap & it worked like a dream. You can find the tea towel [here] & see more up close photos of it & the recipe for the syrian donuts.
Next up, I need to try the recipe! I’m sensing a lot of baking in this farmhouse as the weather gets colder. So what do you think of my subtle dining room tea towel art? Let me know in the comments below, find me on Facebook, & chat with me on Instagram. Thank you so much for stopping by the blog! xx
Liz it is really beautiful and just delicate enough to not overwhelm the space but fill it in an understated way. Now, I know you have stuck some dressers in your suitcase, out with them! 😉
Hi LM – these are cute. But what is better is having a recipe of your mom’s or grandma’s in their handwriting put on a tea towel. Check out Spoonflower. I’m not affiliated with them just think it is cool.
I literally just did this with a dish towel from Target that had a recipe for pumpkin spice pancakes on it! I was going to frame it too and then said forget it and hung it with finishing nails. I feel validated now that you’ve done it too, ha!
The towel looks great and I bet the donuts will be good too. Is this towel white? On the magnolia site ne reviewer said it was cream.
