Ok, I bet you thought you would NEVER see me write that haha. But really, we are! I mean, with my cooking skills this would have never happened, BUT that’s not why we made it. Ok.. funny story. They asked me a while back to design an Easter egg that reflected the state of Michigan. You see they picked one person from each state to decorate an Easter egg to represent their state. I had a bunch of ideas right away, but guess what? Jose completely hijacked my project!! Did you guys know that Jose is more creative than me? Yup… ask me what I’m better at than Jose & I could probably only name one.. being sarcastic. Seriously it’s sickening how he is good at everything. He also enjoys being creative so he grabbed an egg, painted the mackinaw bridge on it in less than 10 minutes, & now it’s in a magazine & [HERE] online. When I say that Jose is the backbone of Liz Marie Blog.. I mean it. It should be called Jose & Liz Marie Blog.. but it’s too late to change so I’ll just let y’all know… He’s pretty cool & this is the egg he painted inspired by the sunset on Mackinaw bridge…
If you haven’t seen the Mackinaw Bridge [it’s a must see while in Michigan!] Here it is at sunset in all it’s glory [HERE]…
What a fun thing, I mean Jose really enjoyed himself. He actually painted a bunch and sent them to the magazine & this is the one they chose. It actually wasn’t my favorite one, but they must have really liked this one. My ideas were not as good & I’m not sure my execution would have been that great… so I’m glad he had fun doing it. Here is this weeks vlog of him decorating the egg, lots of the farm, & more… Click the below play button to watch the video or go [HERE] to subscribe to our channel! Thank you guys so much for stopping by the blog & for watching our vlogs!!!!
Thanks for watching guys!!!!!! xx
Thats is beautiful! How exciting to be picked to do that.
I’m not able to open the vlog. Not sure if it’s on my end or not? I’ll keep trying.
That sunset over the bridge is just dreamy and Jose’s drawing is beautiful! Congratulations to both of you!
Beautiful, magazine worthy!!!
Fun! Congrats to Jose (and you)! We go to Mackinaw every summer and ride the path around the island then go to the Pink Pony for Whitefish Dip and grab some fudge from JoAnns. Then Ferry back. 🙂

How exciting to have this featured! Congratulations?
I’ve had Mackinac Island on my bucket list ever since I saw Somewhere In Time.
It’s a must see if you haven’t yet!
Be blessed!
Beautiful egg. I had never heard of Mackinaw Island. I did some research since reading your post and love the fact that cars are banned there . I hate social media, never sent a text, don’t own a cell phone and this island might be a great place for me to live. Well- on second thought I could not survive those serious winters. I guess I will stay in my little farmhouse here in the Appalachian mountains in NC. But, if one can tolerate the cold it would be a great place to live full time especially in the winter when there are no tourists. Easter blessings to you and your critters.
