I’m so excited to be sharing these master bedroom plans with you guys today! That means that we are actually going to start decorating our bedroom after 4 months of living in our house. Which also means I might make my bed more often once our room looks all pretty. I mean, it doesn’t look bad now, I shared our nightstands [here] yesterday & I did share our Christmas bedroom [here] a few months ago. It just needs to come together. We are getting a new bed, dresser, bedding, & of course some decor. One of the big changes we are making in our master bedroom is that we are going from a king size bed to a queen size. We have been married for 8 years & have always had a king size bed, but I think every night we lay on maybe 10% of it. We are snugglers. If that’s even a word. & our room in our Michigan home is smaller than any other room we have ever had. It’s not too small by any means, but I think a queen will allow us to keep our large nigh stands & give us more room in the space. Another big change? We are getting some nice staple pieces for our “grown up” room. When we were 19 and newly married we actually had a very nice furniture set, back when I liked furniture sets. You know where everything matched? Well, I sold that set when we moved to our new NC home a few years later & ever since then I have loved having thrifted pieces in our space. I still love thrifted pieces [we will be keeping our antique nightstands that I got for a steal & some thrifted finds for decor] but we will be mixing them with some nice staple pieces that will be with us for years & years to come. Here is a little inspiration board I put together for our master bedroom with a few of the key pieces we already picked out..
You can see our choices in the links above, & you can find all of my other picks for the mood board [here] that I used to set up our inspiration. Of course this is just a mood board setting the tone for the our new Master bedroom & things are bound to change, but the staple pieces like the dresser, bed, & bedding are already ordered & on their way! I seriously can’t wait to have this “grown up” haven in our Michigan house with some lovely new “grown up” furniture. We chose most of our pieces from Arhaus & if you haven’t heard of them you must go check them out now. I have been a long time Arhaus fan & every time I shop in there store I leave so inspired. The displays in their stores & the products they carry are so me & so dreamy! I remember when we lived in North Carolina Mr. LMB & I would go & sit in our local Arhaus store & just dream of how our Michigan house was going to look. We promised each other we would have a few pieces in our new home when we moved & here we are. We are partnered with Arhaus to re-do our room & our dreams are finally coming true. I think my next purchase from them will be a sofa… just go & look at their dreamy couches & you will know what I mean, but for now we are sticking to our bedroom. This room makeover is also coming after losing our 5th baby [blog post coming soon on this], so it’s the perfect timing to create this oasis for us after such a hard loss. I’ll be back soon with more master bedroom updates in the #LMBhome, what do you think of our mood board & the direction we are heading? Let me know in the comments below, find me on Facebook, & chat with me on Instagram!
I am partnering with Arhaus for this master bedroom makeover, but all opinions & choices are my own of course.
I like the bed. Honestly bored with everything else. Looks so much like the rest of your house. You asked for opinions!
Btw my daughter has Pcos (I think I have that right??)
God bless you
Love it, fits onto the overall feel of your home but still has your eclectic charm with all the vintage touches, I especially like the touches of green.
I love it! Do you have a link for the mirrors in your mood board?
That bed looks so beautifully cozy!! Reminds me of your comfy sofas… Cannot wait to see it all come together!
And referring to the person commenting about being bored (?)… It SHOULD look like the homeowner’s style, it is HER bedroom… You want it to reflect things you love and are comfortable with, not something else just for the sake of pleasing blog readers!!!!!
Your style is impeccable Liz, and inspiring! ~Kim
Im sorry have to say this if you cant say anything nice and Im never bored if your bored in this beautiful world thats sad! love everything you do !!!
Point taken. I honestly didn’t think what I said would be taken as harshly as it has been. I am truely sorry it has caused offence! I love LMB but, for your sake LizMarie I will not follow any longer. I sincerely apologise.
Where can we find those mirrors? They are exactly what I need over my nightstands!
Beautifully done! I love your choices and I love the mix of new and thrifted items! Well done and thank you for the inspiration!
Gorgeous! I love that bed.
I am slowly chipping away at my master bedroom makeover as well. I have a similar look but the walls are bold. We went from a queen bed to a king sized bed and I LOVE it! But you are right, not everyone likes a huge bed. I sanded down our dresser and stained it but it turned out a bit orange. I added some gray stain but it is still a bit orangy. maybe I just need some more gray stain. I don’t know. Anyway, eager to see your makeover. I am sure you will make it beautiful! Also, I have PCOS as well and struggled to get pregnant. With the help of clomid and estrogen I had my baby boy in 2010. That pregnancy seemed to “reset” my body which made it easy to get pregnant in early 2013. Sadly, that was a tubal pregnancy and I had to have surgery and lost a tube with the baby. Miraculously, I became pregnant again 6 weeks later and had my baby girl in 2014. I am so sorry for your losses but I know I gained hope from success stories. Best of luck to you!

I didn’t read anything about that quote from “Oceans” ? Did you make it or buy it elsewhere? It was one of the songs we used at my husbands funeral service 9 months ago. Could you send me info on it?
Thank you!!
I want to start out by saying I love your style. It is so ME! I am everything neutral. I am a regular follower. I love that your post often. However, I do want to share an honest opinion on something. Sometimes, I find your posts to be completely not relatable. The average person could not afford the furniture you buy and so casually link like it’s a normal purchase. i.e. everything from Arhaus, the Birch Lane shelf, the endless pillows, rugs, and target purchases, the dining chairs that are almost identical to the last dining chairs, etc. When you title a post as a “budget friendly” makeover and then I add up everything listed in your shopping list to find it to be way above what I would spend on a non-budget friendly makeover, I find it a little offensive. Real people can’t live like that. Real people can’t just decide they want new bedding (again) and go to target and drop a couple hundy on the reg. I hate to post a “negative” comment and I normally never would. I just felt the need to share a perspective that has maybe not been considered previously. I shop at target religiously too. I know they have amazing clearance prices. But I also know a lot of stuff you have has not been marked down yet and when added up equals a ton of money. For reference, my husband and I both have great jobs. We earn good incomes. We have no credit cards, no children, and no high car payments or mortgage. We could not realistically afford the furniture and décor featured in your posts.
