You know the thing about decorating your own house is that it’s best to do it over time & be patient. Our walls are still empty or filled with things that I’m wanting to change. Someday. Our dining room walls have been changing a lot lately & I’m excited about where they are going. I’m finally starting to love our dining room & how we are decorating it. See, you can’t decorate ever square space of your house at once & make it exactly what you want, unless you are a super hero. But collecting things over time that you love & decorating your house with those pieces is the way to go. Until then, love your spaces you live in & don’t rush the decorating process or you may not love the end result. If you saw on my Instagram last week, I moved an arrow we had in our dining room & I said I was replacing it with something else. I recently found some plates at Home goods that I wanted to make a simple plate wall in our dining room with. I love that the plates were made from melamine so they are light & I’m not scared of them falling & breaking. Plus at $3.99 a plate it was easy DIY art for our dining room. The dining room is far from done. I could make a whole list of things that need to be done like moving the light, new rug, different table, & so on, but let’s just enjoy the plates for now…
Here is a little peak of our dining room a month or so ago…
I hung the plates with these plate hangers from Michaels [here]. & it was pretty easy to do. I think I like the look of the plates on the walls more in person than I do in photos, but I wanted the plates to hang just above the shiplap on the one wall so we measured accordingly. It’s seriously the easiest thing to hang plates on the wall especially like this so don’t worry about it.
What do you think of our new addition to our dining room walls? I love me some simple white plates. I also love cheap wall art so this project was pretty perfect for me. I promise they are level, not sure if they look unlevel in the photos or if it’s just because I need to go to sleep, either way Mr. LMB made them super level & for that I’m thankful because I can’t promise they would be level if I did it. Let me know in the comments below, find me on Facebook, & chat with me on Instagram. xx

Love it!! I did a plate wall in our dining room, and honestly struggled finding the “right” plates to pair together. I like the all white though – it looks so clean and fresh! Good idea!!
Looks great, I love the Plates! Where did your light fixture come from?
Such a lovely space! The addition of the plates is perfect. Would love to know where your curtains are from?

I love your dining room. I recently had a chandelier re-centered and it was very reasonable much to my surprise. Love how the light pours in. Very welcoming.
