Mkay. I just had to share this with you guys. The photos aren’t that great because our office is far from finished, but I am so excited! We were out junkin’ on Sunday & I wasn’t feeling the greatest, but right before we are about to head home we stumbled across this lovely antique crib that a wonderful local couple turned into a bench/daybed. They even teamed up & sewed the wonderful pillows & accessories for it. I just love meeting other couples that love DIY’ing together & of course junkin’. Mr. LMB was the one that actually pulled the trigger on this piece & had to have it so it makes the piece that much more special to me. I haven’t announced this on here, or maybe I have, but I’ll say it again. Mr. LMB came up with the idea about a week ago to switch around our office & our guest bedroom [moving our office from our lower 2nd level to our top 4th level of our home.] It’s been an awesome change, a lot of work, but awesome none the less. Mr. LMB is one smart man, I can’t believe I didn’t think of this first! The office will now be on the same level as our master bedroom & master bathroom which is great. & our guest room will be it’s own suite when we have guests because they will have their own living room & their own bathroom. More updates on all of this coming very soon, but for now we bought this DIY crib bench for our “new office” & I’m actually sitting on it right now while I’m writing this, so it’s proving to be useful already!
This may be a super boring post as far as photos, but I mean that bench though.. am I right? We have not done much of anything to this room besides moving the furniture from the old office in here & trust me everything is just lying around on the floor, but since moving this bench in here it’s inspired me to get a move on.. so stay tuned for wall decor & more office updates asap! This couple took an antique crib that they had in their garage & turned it into a bench simply by removing one side of the crib & securing all the other sides with clamps. They then cut a wood board to the size of the crib & upholstered it to make the bench portion. Of course they they sewed a back panel that is like a crib bumper actually for the back of the bench & some pillows to finish it off. I just love what they did & from one DIY lover to the next I totally appreciate all the work they put into this little guy. I’m so happy we can have their work in our home to enjoy for years to come.
That is one big wall I have to fill there. The office is a skinny long room so that wall right there is very long & I need to start brainstorming on what to do with it. Thoughts? I was experimenting with this window & a few other things above the bed, but we will see what we end up doing. What do you think would look great above our day bed? What do you think of our DIY crib bench? I am in love! You can visit this creative couples store downtown Grand Rapids by the way it’s called Buckley & Douglas & they always have gems like this lovely piece of furniture in our office. Mkay it’s late & sitting on this bed is making me sleepy. Night guys & I can’t wait to decorate this full space & show you guys! Thanks for stopping by the blog & be sure to find me on Instagram & Facebook. xx
It’s a super cute piece and so you. Love the idea of the room flip too. Sometimes, it takes being in the home a little bit for things to settle in, and sometimes, changes occur over time to better suit your needs. So nice not to feel locked-in.
I like how it turned out!
I love that is has that large, open space underneath to add baskets/wooden crates for more storage! Not sure what I would hang over it…. Maybe make a wooden sign with an inspirational quote?! I know you will come up with something! Love it!!

Love it! I have actually been eyeing a vintage cast iron cot myself to use as a bench outside! But I am not sure about it yet, your those looks lovely.
