Farmhouse Style Porch Swings

So we are in the planning a.k.a dreaming phase for our porch. Let me throw a quick back story to our porch.

We aren’t quite certain when this porch went on… this was an old salt box farmhouse, so no portion of the porch is original to the home. Regardless, it has been on the home for quite awhile and the weather is starting to win the battle against the wood.

The flooring of the porch is in decent shape, minus the gazebo area, but the columns and and railings are showing signs of rotting, and a few of them have been cutout and replaced already. While the dollar signs are clearly lurking over our head with the cost… this little girl isn’t going to hesitate dreaming about her dream porch.

Again this is just a thought process right now, so dive into my scattered brain for a minute, I hope you can get out alive, haha. I may be a weird designer with this one, but I always start with end details, and work my way back to structure and layout. I mean I have designed an entire space around a little vase or watering can, so forgive my process if its a little backwards. Now, that 10 year North Carolina girl inside me is saying… “Girl, you better put swing on the porch,” (insert a sweat tea sipping southern bell accent–which I never had… so I don’t why?!?!) again my brain –so sorry.

We aren’t redesigning the porch, but adding certain elements like a porch swing can change the feel of the front of the house. So… where do we go with it? I’ve put together a quick list of some of my favorite porch swings I have found so far. I cannot say I am completely head over heals over one as of yet, but I love certain aspects of each of them that maybe will push me one way or help me narrow what I’m looking for.
