Ok, I actually promised myself that I wouldn’t go antiquing this weekend, but then I had some bookshelves to style so I had to go find some treasures to decorate it… right? Also… It’s been a hard couple of weeks with the loss of our baby and I shouldn’t be trusted within a mile of an antique store because… shopping therapy. Anyways I picked up a few treasures to style some bookshelves with this weekend & I’m excited to share with you some of the treasures I got…
First up I found some amazing drawers. Yes, drawers. I love picking up drawers out of old pieces of furniture because they make great storage & they are an amazing alternative to a regular basket. I love for drawers with great paint or beautiful wood that have interesting detail. I use them on bookshelves & other places for storage from anything to blankets to knick knacks to useful items like garden tools & seeds. I picked up a few big ones & a few small ones… I collect them all & they are becoming my favorite way to store things.
Don’t ask me why, but I LOVE old signage… for sale signs, antique ads, & so much more. It always makes me wonder what this sign was selling… a home? A farm? Who knows! I’ll probably end up framing this baby, but it was too good of a deal to pass up!
I picked up some antique shoe forms for our shelves & I honestly have always loved these, but for some reason I’ve never picked some up for our home. The wood is always a gorgeous pop in our white decor & they are a simple item to style among our decor to add an antique vibe to our space. I think I will be picking up more of these soon!
I picked up some old frames that I think I was to use in our bedroom … oh no, I’m collecting something else now. I need all the old frames. I’ll keep you updated on what I end up doing with these babies.
I picked up a few more silhouettes to add to my collection. They are not going here, but I lined them up here for now before I style them on the shelves. Silhouettes are a fun thing to find at antique shops & flea markets sometimes they come framed and sometimes not… I’ll take both!
One thing that I picked up that I’m so glad we picked up was an old black box. Jose doubted it because let’s face it, it had seen better days, but it looks perfect here in the office! I’m so glad I picked this baby up!! I’m really not sure what it was used for in it’s prime? But I just know that it will be storing some office supplies for us.
I can’t wait to share what I do with these finds… Thank you guys so much for stopping by the blog today & every day to see what we are up to. I hope you guys found some treasures if you went antiquing or flea-marketing this weekend! Tag me in our finds on Instagram so I can see them! xx
