Okay… you know that super cute room we replaced the wallpaper on earlier this year? If not, here’s a link to the post [here] I think its about time I do a quick little update & show you something cool I recently learned…
So this room was a little tough, emotionally, for me for a little while. See this is the only other bedroom upstairs, and naturally it’ll one day be our little one’s room and earlier this year we thought that time was coming soon but as we all know, He has a different plan in store for us right now. So after a few months and a new take on this space, I am super excited to share this space and how we’ve revised its look and function (for now!).
Last weekend we had a wonderful time away in Mackinac Island, and Jose’s parents stayed at the farm to keep an eye on crazy Winnie, Grace, and the rest of the gang. In prep of having them here, we realized we really need an established guest room for any overnight guest, and that is where our motivation and direction for this room comes from.If it was up to Jose, we’d be running an Air BnB tomorrow. He loves the idea of hosting people here at the farm, in fact we have a few photo shoots happening on the farm this coming weekend, and Jose is all excited to get out and beautify some areas on the farm.
Okay, back to the space…
I wanted to the share a cool little thing I learned about. So Carpet One reached out to see if I wanted to share carpet rugs with my readers. Umm… Carpet Rugs? I was confused because I always thought there was carpet & then there were rugs. Maybe I was the only one that didn’t know this but I was unaware that there were options to turn preexisting carpet styles and designs, and make them traditional sized rugs. Well, it’s an option & I think a great option at that!
So Carpet One carries this line called, “Relax, it’s… Lees.” Its a super tough carpet line that repels most liquids, even coffee. They stand behind this statement so much they have a “no exclusions” 25 year warranty grease, coffee, bleach, and even pet stains. We live on a farm, getting dirty is part of the lifestyle out here and stains inside our house is nothing new for Jose and I. A stain resistant rug? Sign me up! The other reason why I loved the carpet rug option was because I love for rugs to anchor a space, but I don’t always want a bold pattern & I want it to be soft and cozy. Enter “Relax, it’s Lees” carpet rugs that come in all of their carpet colors and patterns, but in a rug. I loved this option because as many of us know, carpet comes with a lot of neutral options which makes my life easier.
In fact! While I was styling this room, we tested our version of the pet stain. I don’t know if you anyone reading this owns a Great Pyrenees, but i’m told its not uncommon for them and other large breed dogs to do this. One of our outdoor water bowls its large enough for Winnie to put her two front paws in it, while she drinks. Picture that! She literally stands in her water bowl, splashes the water, and tries to catch the water in the air. Nonetheless, wet paws & running outside in the mud & running back in don’t really mix well for rugs, but to our surprise it was easily brushed out & that’s when we knew we might actually be able to have rugs in this farmhouse full of dogs.
I tried the rug in this guest room first, & it did make the room really cozy, but this room is FAR from done.. in fact I just got started after taking a long break so expect more updates very soon! I hope you guys found this post informative & interesting because I know it’s a new subject that fascinated me for sure! You guys can go check out the “Relax, it’s Lees” line to see what carpet you can make into rugs for your home. Dog and Toddler Proof? I think we can all get on board with that… Thank you guys SO MUCH for stopping by the blog today & every day to see what we are up to! xx
I worked with Carpet One on this post, but as always all opinions are my very own.. thank you for supporting me as I work with companies that I truly stand behind!
i am not much into the whites however love this room the wallpaper is wonderful so peaceful .
Your room is very pretty – Wall paper is something i shy away from – but the paper is beautiful. I think i want a roll of it.
Be blessed.
Hi Liz! Native of Hudsonville, MI here – I love your blog! I’m glad you wrote about this rug option, I’ll make sure to look in to it. My question is – how do you keep your virtually all white house so clean!?! I love the the look of white bedding, but it gets dingy looking in just a month or so! I’d love to white/beige furniture as well, but can’t imagine how it wouldn’t get stained in two minutes (we also have a pup that is allowed on the couch). Do you use any products or have household rules to keep your place looking so sparkling!? Thanks!
Hi Liz where do you get your pillows ? I also asked about one from another blog ~ thanks Lorraine

The room is very pretty and the carpet rug is definitely an interesting concept.
But I have the same question as Cassidy: how do you keep your house sooo clean?
