Oh my… I can’t believe how far we have come in our upstairs part of our farmhouse since moving in here. In the past few months we have made the majority of our progress with big renovations like window replacement, new flooring, new wall treatments, lots of paint, & even some new lighting. In case you forget what our upstairs looked like before, here is what we were working with just over a year ago…

I honestly Can’t believe how much progress we have made…

Sometimes it’s hard to just see the to-do list when you are living in a fixer-upper like working on the hallway ceilings, painting the doors, changing the vents, & so on… but seeing progress like this reminds me that we really have come a long way & it takes some of that pressure off. Even if you are not a blogger, I HIGHLY recommend taking before photos so you can really see the progress you have made on all of your projects. It for sure makes you feel better about all the work you have done…

Recently we replaced all the windows in our upstairs with Renewal By Andersen which was the biggest difference maker in our upstairs. It reduced noise, brightened up the whole hallway, added character, & stopped the outside elements from coming in like wind & bugs. Next up is covering up that wallpaper with our go-to shiplap and some lovely white paint which brightened up the whole space. Next major update? The floors! we got rid of the carpet & put in the painted pine flooring that we did downstairs [HERE]. Last but not least we are testing out lighting & we tried these super affordable wall sconces [HERE].

A lot more updates coming to this space very soon, but for now I really wanted to share how far we have come & show you the big impact that these changes can make in your renovation as well. Thank you SO MUCH for stopping by the blog today & every single day to see what we are up to. Follow more behind the scenes on my Instagram [HERE]. xx
It is so inspiring to see how your home has changed. Sometimes I find it really hard to have patience living in our fixer upper, I want to just change everything all at once. Its not really how it works for us :(. Your faith in the process is a huge help to me.
Thank you for sharing
Liz,
Love how light and bright the upstairs is now with all your updates!
Truly inspiring!

Love it. Curious where is the black home print from?
Where or where is this GORGEOUS print (painting?) from???
Hello Liz!!!
I love your beautiful home! I love to see the before and after of all your guys hard work. I also have a fixer upper my craftsman style was built in 1912. I had a question on painting the shiplap I painted some wainscoting and I see yellow seeping through and we put primer. Did you have that problem? How did you eliminate that problem?
Email me I will send you pictures of my progress!! Would love the advice!!
Thank you from one Veterans wife to another…

Love the black & white picture!
Hi Liz Marie, I have decorated and loved home interiors my whole life. Your artistic talent to make a room into the most lovely space is mind-blowing! Thank you for sharing it with all of us.
WOW! What a difference! Your space is gorgeous! Loving the sign/print that you have hanging at the top of the stairs. Where did you find it?? Great job!
What color paint did you choose for the floor? I love it!
