Ski lodge under the stairs! I felt so inspired to turn this nook under our stairs into a mini ski lodge. I wanted to mimic the style I would decorate the lodge with here! First I had to gather the supplies I wanted to use for this space … vintage ski’s, gorgeous sled, my ski lodge sign [aka a pillow], my snow boots, and of course a tree for the holidays!

When I think about a ski lodge I think about curling up with a hot coffee & relaxing after a day out in the snow. Or if you wouldn’t be out skiing around, a cozy spot to hang out in the lodge! Of course, I had to come up with a story for why each item would be displayed. So maybe the sled is on display because it was the first sled ever used at the ski resort … And the ski’s were worn setting a record! Or the storyline can be whatever you prefer! Either way, I love using my creativity to tell a story with the nook under our stairs.

I wanted to feel like you stepped into a little corner of a ski lodge when you come into our home! And to bring all of the cozy warm vibes into this nook. In my humble opinion, it did exactly that! This rug from Walmart is so versatile I love showing you guys how it can work with a variety of styles and even with pops of color. SO MANY of you have purchased this rug & it has been so much fun seeing the way you style it in your home! If you are still eyeing this rug it is on sale now & restocked in some sizes, check it out HERE.

As always I hope you feel inspired by the blog. Whether it is to try something new, try repurposing items in your home, or even to try telling a story with your design! I truly believe there are no rules you have to follow … As long as you LOVE the way your home looks & feels. Thank you so much for stopping by the blog today and every day. Xx Liz Marie

Love this look Liz, it’s my favorite so far. I like the little striped mittens on the cut little tree. Blessings to you and yours from here in Australia xo
So many cozy ski lodge vibes. I just love how welcoming this space is, it makes me want to curl up with a book and some coffee to watch the snow fall.
Please can you tell the brand of the carpet under the stairs??
I just love this nook you’ve created under the stairs, Liz! You’ve got it decorated so cute for Christmas! I love the ski lodge look.
It’s beautiful! I do have a question to something I’m dying to know. With so many collections of items, where do you store everything?!!! Do you feature a lot of items that you sell in your store? I’d need a barn or a second house just for your holiday items lol.
Really inviting. I love it. Your doggy is what makes it soooo cozy. 🙂
I absolutely adore your chippy white cabinet! It almost looks like the top part of a china cabinet/hutch. Is this a piece you purchased as is? Or did you paint it yourself?
What a great space you created. Like you said, you nailed it. Makes you feel like you stepped back in time at a ski resort. Also my I ask where you got the mitten garland? I want to do a project and these would look great on it. Thank you and have a great day.
PS. Welcome back!!!
What do you do when it comes to hanging things? You change stuff out so often I can’t imagine you use nails or screws and ruin your walls. I love to change out for seasons, but I do not want screws/hooks/nails showing when I do not have something for a space or if it doesn’t fit that space adding more. Just really looking for a guide on best ways to hang decor and switch out. Especially for heavier items like heavier Christmas garland. Thank you!
Where is the link for the Merry Christmas banner?
Would love the link for the banner too!
Would love to know where you purchased the Ski Lodge pillows.
So fun! Where did you get the Merry Christmas garland??
Just wanted to say out of your Christmas designs so far this year this one’s my favorite. I love the sled and I love pictures with your dogs in them they’re just so cute. I also want to thank you for your scriptures in your story today that was very nice and uplifting. I was so glad to hear you’re not perfect LOL!! I was starting to wonder if I was good enough for your Instagram page just kidding. I think it’s great that you can be real? I would like for Jose to do more blogging. I like it when he does projects on his Instagram stories he should do more.Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family
