It’s no secret if you have been following my blog for a while that we move furniture around our house constantly. It’s like musical chairs, but with all furniture. Things are always set to change at any moment that inspiration strikes. No piece of furniture is safe. Well, I recently Instagrammed a photo of a new [old] dresser we got for our guest bedroom recently & that meant a dresser had to move out of there & find a new home. Where was it to go? Our entryway table [here] was my first option to move. I gave the entryway table the boot [no pun intended] & moved our two toned dresser into it’s place. I’m not sure if it will stay there, but it’s there for now & so I thought I would show you. The dresser got a little beat up in our two moves this this past year, but I haven’t done anything to the piece because 1. I’m lazy & 2. It gives the piece character right?
I loved the table in this spot & there are pros & cons to both pieces, but for now I’m loving the entryway dresser here too. It adds amazing storage that the table didn’t have [shoes in the drawers] & it’s smaller than the table [width & depth] so that’s really nice too. The one thing about the dresser that is a con is the height under the coat rack because it doesn’t leave as much space to hang things as the table did. Here is our old table that the dresser replaced for now…
& the dresser now in it’s spot…
I’m forever changing stuff out in this space but for now here are the details: Lamp, picture frame, & boxwood are all HomeGoods, Boot tray is Target, rug is world market, Chairs, leather bag, & frames are Marshalls, Stripe bag is Better Life Bags, hardware is Hobby Lobby, Candle is World Market, & the dresser is a DIY project [see how I got the look [here]]. Just a simple styling in a simple little place, but it all makes me so happy as I come home & as I leave. I hope it does the same for our guests!
What do you think of our little dresser change around? Oh, & that lamp wasn’t there a few days ago, you can see the lamp that was there on my Instagram [here]. I didn’t feel like that lamp was meant for the space so I changed it up. I’m quite happy with this little lamp here except for the fact that there is a broken part on it, think someone at HomeGoods could help me fix it because the hubs and I have tried.. anyone down to fix it for me? At least it looks pretty! Let me know what you think of the new change in the comments below, find me on Facebook, & chat with me on Instagram. xx
LOVE your entryway. It’s so inviting. And the shoe tray under your little dresser is perfect for keeping the dirt outside!!!
Liz, if you are worried about not having enough space to hang things, perhaps you can put some more hooks further up. The dresser looks great there. And it is grea for hiding stuff, hich everybody loves!
Wow, I really love this! It’s a great idea for storage in your entryway. 🙂
Though, I noticed where you linked the dresser DIY, it brings you to a different dresser.
I love it! If only my entry way could looks so put together…
